Disclaimer: I don't own the Harry Potter universe... Unfortunately...

This is my first fic ever, so please be nice. I'm also not English, you might notice that. Sorry if Remus or Sirius acts a bit ooc. Anyways enjoy =)

It was a late Thursday evening, and Lupin was just getting ready to go to bed, when he saw something moving outside. He walked over to the window, and looked for whatever was the source of movement. It was just a blackbird.

He sighed. He was tired, the full moon was approaching. He thought back to the full moons when he was still a student at Hogwarts, not a teacher. Life had been so much easier back then.

He sighed again. It was no use to think about what he had lost, that one night, 12 years ago. How much could your life change in such a short amount of time? He knew that he shouldn't think like that, it would only make him feel worse.

Lupin closed the curtains, and walked over to his bed. Then he heard something. The teacher listened, but didn't hear anything. He must have imagined it. He sat down, the heard it again. It sounded like something was scratching the door and whining, like a dog begging to be let in. But it couldn't be...

Lupin walked over to the door, and opened it. Waiting right outside his door was a big black dog, with blue-grey eyes, which looked extremely like the grim. All he could manage at that moment was: 'Sirius?'

The dog walked in and turned into a man with a waxy face, surrounded by elbow-length, matted black hair.

'No way,' breathed Lupin.

'Moony,' said the man, 'long time no see.'

'Why, Sirius?' Lupin asked.

'I didn't know, I swear moony, I never thought Peter would betray them. I - I persuaded them to use Peter as secret-keeper, to change last moment, because no one would think so. It never occurred to me that he could betray them moony, I swear. I knew something was wrong when I went to check on him, but he wasn't there. I went to James and Lily straight away, b-but only to find it destroyed. Then I went after Pettigrew, but he expected me to. In front of a whole street, he asked why I- why I betrayed them, and then he blew up the whole street.

You have to believe me Remus.'

'Then explain to me why exactly Peter would kill himself?' asked Lupin sceptically, not believing this was happening.

'He didn't, of course he didn't, he cut off his finger and ran away as a rat! How fitting it turns out to be, that stupid rat!'

'You mean you're innocent? I know you're not lying, you always used to be such a bad liar.'

He really hoped this was true, it would mean he would have his friend, no his best friend, back.

'Yes' Black said quietly, before Lupin embraced him like a brother, beaming.

'I'm so glad that you came to me,' he said, smiling.

Black also smiled feeling that there might be hope left for them.

Then Lupin woke up.

So please review, and tell me whether you liked it or not.
