Tap…. Tap…. Tap…
Zelda heard something coming from outside her window
Tap… Tap… Tap…
She flipped her light on and went over to the window. Looking down to the ground she saw Link holding a handful of small pebbles. She couldn't help but crack a smile seeing his enthusiastic grin when she opened the window. He motioned for her to come down, but she couldn't go out through the front door, it was the middle of the night after all. He did a little jump, trying to signal for her to jump out the window. She gave him and "are you crazy?" look. He held out his arms, showing that he would catch her. She knew he would, she trusted him.
She climbed over the edge of the window and jumped down, trying her best not to yell while going down. Her eyes were shut tight as she flew down the two stories to where Link was standing. She suddenly felt herself stop falling, but she wasn't hurt. Instead she was cradled bridal style inside two strong arms. She opened her eyes and saw two beautiful blue ones looking back at her. The way his eyes glittered in the light of the stars was enough for her heart to skip a beat, but the way he looked at her. Pure love and affection glowing in his eyes. He never wanted to let go of her. He put her down, but grabbed for her hand immediately. They spoke in whispers:
"What's the big idea, Romeo?" she said sarcastically "It's the middle of the night. Aren't you afraid of getting caught?"
"There is no trial too great to keep me from you, Juliet" he said jokingly. "Besides, I just really wanted to see you."
"Shouldn't you have been asleep?" she said poking him playfully in the shoulder. "No wonder you sleep all day, you're a night owl, huh?"
"I tried to sleep, but you wouldn't get out of my head." He said stepping closer to her. "I needed a goodnight kiss."
"You came all the way here just for a kiss?" she asked, surprised.
"A kiss from you is worth traveling a thousand miles. There's nothing I wouldn't do." He said caressing her cheek with his free hand.
"Stop with the mushy stuff… you're making my insides feel all fuzzy" she said with a small smile.
He gently pulled her closer to him, keeping one hand on her face and he placed a tender kiss on her lips. The kiss lasted only a second, but it left an impression; it was one of the most love-filled kisses she'd ever felt him give her. He kept his face close to hers after he kissed her, resting his forehead against hers.
"Link…" she said softly as she reached her hand up and ran her fingers down his cheek and neck, coming to rest on his shoulder. He brushed the hair out of her face with his hand that was on her cheek.
"I love you." He said, his words full of sincerity and truthfulness.
"I love you too." She said with the same earnestness. He held her close for a few moments, inhaling the scent of her hair. She rested her head against his chest and listened to his gentle heartbeat.
