Aria T'Loak the Pirate Queen of Omega was bored. She was reluctant to admit it but it was true. Suddenly she sensed someone watching her. She looked and found she couldn't look away from the brilliant green eyes that met hers. Red hair framed a strong yet feminine face. The human had an attitude that proudly claimed "Fuck with me and you'll regret it". Aria grinned. This human she liked.

"Grizz! Bring that human here." She commanded. The human was already on her way. Suddenly the blue-skinned asari with her grabbed her arm. The asari shook her head desperately. She pointed to the door. Agents of a pro-humanity group called Cerberus had burst in. Aria stared in disbelief then she was hurtling back through her memories to the day her little girl -her beautiful five-year-old daughter- was kidnapped.

Aria walked into her daughter's bedroom. The child was bouncing on the bed but stopped when she saw her mother.

"Mommy!" The little girl cried happily before launching herself at her mother. Aria swung her daughter into the air laughing. As always the child went straight for her necklace.

"Mikayla, no playing with Mommy's necklace. " Aria told her. There was a commotion outside the house. Suddenly armed soldiers burst into the room. Aria put her daughter down behind her. Blue lights swirled down her arms a sign she was ready to use her biotics. She attacked but one of the attackers got behind her snatching Mikayla who screamed in terror. Aria whirled and someone shot her in the back of her right leg. Mikayla lashed out unleashing her own super-biotics. The attacker holding her was ripped apart. Another attacker slammed Aria into the wall. The last thing she saw was one of the attackers knocking her daughter unconscious and escaping through the window.

Aria blinked returning to reality as she realized someone stood before her. The human she was interested in was before her.

"You wanted to see me, AriaT'Loak?" The woman asked in what was almost a challenging tone.

"You caught my eye. You interest me," Aria replied. "Sit. You're Commander Shepard. Who is your asari companion?"

"LiaraT'soni. The Shadow Broker and my..." Shepard's voice trailed off. Aria snickered.

"Well, regardless... I need your help," Aria said. "If you think you can handle it." Shepard knew a challenge when she heard it.

"I can handle any challenge you give me," Shepard retorted. "Tell me."
