A/N: I don't own Bones.
Ok guys. This is just a little one-shot I thought up of.
Tissue warning by the way:
Six-year old Katherine Booth crawled into her bed and stared up at her ceiling. She stayed still like that for a few minutes, and then decided to talk.
"Daddy...I started first grade today. My teacher is really nice. She asked about you. Mommy came into the class room with me, and the teacher asked me where my Daddy was. I told her that you were up in heaven, and that you were looking down at us. I saw Mommy start to cry, so I hugged her like you used to, and I told her that everything would be okay." Katherine said aloud.
"Mommy says that I should talk to you sometime, because she says that you can hear me. I hope you can Daddy. I wanted you to know that I miss you a lot, and I wish you would come home. Mommy also said that one day, I can visit you in heaven! I hope she's right Daddy. I miss you so much.
"When are you coming home? Everytime I ask Mommy that, she gets really sad and starts to cry. I don't like it when Mommy cries. She said that you have been gone for almost a year now. That's a really long time. Don't you wanna come home, and see me? Did I make you go away? If I did Daddy, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to make you leave me and Mommy.
"Guess what else Daddy? I know how to count to fifty now! I learned all my ABC's, and I can spell my name, and Mommy's name! Aren't you proud of me Daddy? I wish you were here to see me. I have a picture of us Daddy. I look at it a lot when I'm in my room. You were pushing me on the merry-go-round like you used to. I wish you would come home and push me again. I miss that Daddy.
"Mommy says that one day, we will all be together again! I can't wait until then.
"But Mommy isn't very happy anymore. She cries a lot, and I try to hug her and tell her that we still love her, but it doesn't work anymore. She really needs you Daddy.
"I know you don't like it when I cry, but I just wanna see you again. If I could just hug you again, I wouldn't cry anymore, I promise!" Katherine exclaimed. She paused, and stared eagerly at her door, waiting for the moment when Seeley Booth would walk through it and hug her one more time.
Katherine stayed like that for ten minutes, and then she started to cry.
"Daddy...you aren't hugging me. I'm sorry I was ever a bad girl, and I'm sorry if I ever made you sad! Just please come home Daddy, please!" She begged as she began to cry some more. Her gaze once again adjusted itself to her door, but her wishes weren't granted.
"Okay Daddy. Maybe you're busy right now catching a bad guy. But I'm going to lay here and wait for you to walk through my door again, okay? I'm going to lay here until you tuck me in and kiss me good night. So, hurry up Daddy. I really can't wait to see you." Katherine finished as she adjusted herself to stare at her door.
She laid like that the entire night, waiting for someone who never showed up.
