She sat looking out the window with tears in her eyes; they fell like the rain outside.
How could he do this to me? She thought, he's my father. Doesn't he care at all how I feel?
As she was staring out the window, she saw someone coming out of the woods, dressed in green, soaking wet.

She ran downstairs not worrying about what the other people inside thought about what she was doing.
"Where are you going?" he father yelled at her as she ran past, "Zelda?" she completely ignored him and ran to the yard outside her room. As she ran out the door, she saw him standing there in the pouring rain. She just stood there and stared at him.
"I don't care what your father says; I can't stay away from you." He shouted. "I tried. I tried as hard as I could to stay away, but I can't. I need you." She could head his voice beginning to break "I've never felt this way about anyone or anything in my entire life. I've seen wide seas and great mountains, I've seen everything there is to see in this world, but I can't keep myself from coming back to you. You're the only thing I want to come back to. You're the most beautiful thing I've ever seen in my life. I know I'm not much; I can't give you anything materially. But I hope that my love is enough for you. I love you, Zelda. I love you! I can't live my life without you! I'll tell your father, I'll tell everyone how much I love you. I won't let anything get in the way of us. Nothing. I need you."
"Link…" she said softly as she walked over to him. He took her hands in his and spoke softly
"I was always searching. Searching for… something. Myself… what it was that I was missing. But I found it here. It's you. I realized that even more now that I had to be away from you."
"Absence makes the heart grow fonder, I suppose" she said, on the verge of tears
"I always think my heart is full to the top with love, that there's no way I could ever love you more… but every time I lay eyes on you, I fall more and more in love. I love you so much it hurts me, but it also gives me such a beautiful feeling of pleasure." She reached up and touched his face gently and he put his arms around her waist, her free hand on his shoulder.
"Stop being such a sap and kiss me, would ya?" she said smiling. He put one of his hands behind her head and pressed his lips to hers with such feeling. It was gentle, but full of passion at the same time. "I love you so much, you goof." He smiled against her lips and placed another soft kiss against them, running his fingers gently through her hair.
"Zelda, that's quite enough." They heard from behind them. It was her father. "It's time to get out of the rain and let go of that… sheep herder."
"No." she said flatly, never looking away from Link's face.
"What did you say to me?" he father asked sternly
"No."
"You are forbidden to see him"
"I don't care." She gently ran her fingers down his cheek. "I love him. I'm going to be with him."
Her father came up behind her and grabbed her "You are coming with me and you shall be married to the royalty if my choosing. I cannot allow a commoners blood into this family." He said.
"Get your hands off of her!" Link shouted angrily. "You hurt her and I'll kill you myself."
"Do you dare threaten your King, peasant?"
"What does it look like?" Link asks through gritted teeth, standing his ground
"Take him away from here, into the dungeon!" her father shouts to the guards.
"NO!" Zelda yells as the guards grab him
"It'll be alright." Link says to her as they pull him away "I love you, don't forget that."
