Prodigal Daughter

When a mysterious woman shows up looking for her birth mother it sends the team on and emotional mission.

Don't own NCIS. Just fun fan fic.

B&W teaser-Tony at his desk looking shocked and then turns to Ziva who is equally shocked.

A balloon flies up from a little girl stand near a tree at the annual NCIS Agency picnic being held in Anacostia Park. Across the way is the Washington Navy Yard and the headquarters building of NCIS.

Abby walks around with two older people following. She signs them to keep up and to try to have fun. They take her arm in arm. She walks up to Ducky who is with his mother.

"Donald, it's too warm out here. I would like to be in the shade." she advises.

"Yes, mother. In a little bit. But first we have to find Mr. Palmer." he replies.

Abby and her parents, if you haven't guess walk up and she greets, "Hi, Ducky. Hi, Mrs. Mallard."

"Abigail. How are you?"

"Great! these are my parents Fredrick and Anna Belle Scuito." she introduces.

"Nice to meet you." he says and signs hello.

"Donald. We need to get into some shade. This sun is blistering my skin. Why don't they say anything?" she asks.

"They're deaf mother. Be nice."

"Oh." she signs away at Abby's parents.

"I didn't know you mom could signs. That rocks1" Abby say.

"Neither did I."

"I may be 97 years old but I'm not dead yet. An old cat like me can still learn a few tricks." she sumizes.

Jimmy Palmer and his mother walks up, "Hi, Abby. Dr. Mallard. I would like to introduce my-"

She takes Ducky hand and holds it, "You must be Dr. Mallard. Jimmy didn't say how handsome you are. I'm Gladys Palmer."

Meanwhile in the squad room across the river, Tim and Sarah McGee are fighting over who will carry the dish she made for the picnic.

"I'll take it. I made it so I should take it over." she states.

"No. since I'm and employee I can't be seen not bringing anything to the picnic."

"Well it's you own fault you forgot to make something." she replies.

"I didn't forget. I was too busy."

"Oh, yeah, too busy writing the adventures of LJ Tibbs I bet." she mocks.

"Make me glad I'm an only child." Tony says from his desk.

"You know, siblings can make a person grow up well adjusted."

"Yeah, and hows that whole trained assassin family thing working out for you. What do the David's tell stories at picnics of how they shot this guy or how they got the intel on this target."

"We do not have picnics." Ziva replies.

"Why?" Tony asks.

"Because if you came we would have to kill you."

Tony laughs as a young dark haired brunette walks up. She has a visitor badge on and is dressed in typical clothes for a woman of twenty five or so.

"Yes, can I help you?" in his smooth charming voice.

"Uh, yeah. I'm looking for my birth mother." she says looking at tim and Sarah still fighting but with Tim hold the dish above her head.

"Is that some kind of combat technique."

"Yeah, it's called sibling rivalry. How do you know your birth mom is here."

"I don't. I was only told that she worked at NCIS."

"Is she an agent, or does she work as a secretary."

"I don't know."

"What her name?" asks a he goes to type it in.

"Jennifer Shepard."

Tim and Sarah stop fighting, Ziva stands up from her desk and Tony looks over to Ziva who is also shocked.
