Title: Love Letter

Pairing: Sylar/Peter

Rating: PG-13

Summary: written for schmoop bingo's love letter prompt. Sylar leaves Peter a letter before disappearing for a few days.

Sylar could hear Peter's soft snores coming from the bedroom as he finished up the letter he was writing. He signed the bottom and folded it up before carefully walking into Peter's room and laying the letter on Peter's nightstand.

Sylar leaned over Peter, careful not to wake the other man. He brushed Peter's bangs off his forehead before placing a soft kiss on his forehead. "Goodbye Peter."

Sylar slipped out the front door and left the apartment. Peter awoke later that morning to his alarm going off. He reached over to shut it off when his fingers brushed against paper. He sat up and picked up the letter addressed to him.

Peter,

I'm leaving for a few days mostly to give you time for processing what I am going to tell you. I don't think that I could face you right away.

I am very grateful that you gave me a place to live. I don't think that I could think you enough for that. It's been around five months since I moved in and in those five months, I fell in love with you.

It was the little things that really got to me. The first thing would have to be your big heart. You save lives, and you care so much for the people you love and the people you barely know. You work you ass off to save some random person on the street. I know that it's your job to do so, but when I came to the hospital one day I saw the way you cared for a little kid that had just been in a car accident. It was heartwarming. You're a hero Peter, a true hero.

Another thing was your not as forgiving as people think. It took five years for you to forgive me. Five. Even then, you only partly forgave me. I can't bring him back and we both know that. But if I could then I would.

The biggest thing that made me fall for you is the conversations we have. It could be the middle of the night and you would have to be to work in two hours, but your sitting in the front room with me talking about the most random thing ever. It could be your day at work, or you would ask me to describe how to make restore a time piece or even your concerns about Claire. It doesn't matter what the conversation is, but you talk to me and I thank you for that.

You more than likely don't feel the same way, but I can't hide my feelings anymore. I love you Peter Petrelli. More than anything.

If you want me to move out after this I can understand.

- Gabriel Gray

Peter smiled sadly at the letter in his hand. He set it back down and got ready for work. He would wait patiently for Sylar to return.

It was almost a week later when Peter sensed someone in the open window. He turned to see Sylar sitting on the sill watching him. "You came back."

"I said that I would."

Peter patted the empty space next to him. "Come here."

Sylar hesitantly moved off the window sill and laid down on the bed next to Peter. "You still want me here then?"

Peter nodded and curled into Sylar. "I love you too."
