Disclaimer: I don't own the Office. I now own an "I Love Jim" t-shirt, which ought to count for something.
A/n: My second Office fic! This takes place during season 3 finale, "The Job", when Jim is interviewing for Jan's job.
In Ten Years
"So," said David Wallace as he leaned back in his black office chair and steepled his fingers together. "Where do you see yourself in ten years?"
Jim hesitated.
The paper with the gold yogurt lid that had been used as a gold medal in the Office Olympics sat in his lap with Pam's familiar writing on it.
"Don't forget us when you're famous!" it read.
He touched the yogurt lid and thought of the Office Olympics day, how Pam had helped him organize the events and had made everything that much more fun. More memories dashed through his mind of all the times they'd shared together, the numerous pranks on Dwight, dealing with Michael, making each other's jobs so much more bearable.
He thought about kissing her before he took the Stanford job. He thought about dating Karen, about Pam calling off her wedding to Roy, about Beach Day when she told him she missed him.
Where do you see yourself in ten years?
The question seemed to echo in his mind and immediately brought up more images of Pam. He imagined being ten years older and still working at Scranton's Dunder-Mifflin. The idea wasn't all that appealing until he imagined Pam there too. She had a ring on her finger and was laughing. He always loved it when she laughed, the way her eyes sparkled and she rocked slightly from side to side. He smiled and saw a ring on his finger too. He gave her a tight, romantic hug and she asked him what he wanted for supper when they got home from work…
David cleared his throat.
"I'm sorry," said Jim. "Could you repeat the question?"
"Sure. Where do yourself in ten years?"
Jim smiled.
With Pam.

A/n: Oh man. How do I love Jam. ;) Thanks for reading, and reviews are like oxygen.
