Disclaimer - I own nothing. Starscream x Megatron

---------------------------------------------------------

He flinches, null rays charging.
"It's me," I growl.
"How did you get in here?" he replies softly, not turning away from the window where he stands. Still tense.

I choose not to answer. He knows the answer already anyway - it's my ship. It doesn't matter how many times the little Seeker tries changes the pass code to his room. Instead I tighten my grip around his shoulders, peering over his wing out the window.

We're far now, very far from home. And we stand and stare at stars, stars, nothing but damn stars.

"What is your command," he says in a monotone that would make Soundwave proud.
"Null rays. Off." He complies grudgingly, never turning his face from the window. I turn my head slightly, taking in the pride plastered all over his face. It's cold and sarcastic.
"Look at me," I snap. He turns his head mechanically, with an unimpressed expression.

Irritating brat.

I slam my hand against his face, pushing him away. He catches himself, landing lightly on the floor.
Walking over to where he sits on the floor, he's still looking me straight in the optics. I look down at him, momentarily feeling remorse for hitting him. But I never apologize, so instead, I hope he sees it in my face.
"Do you miss it, Starscream?" I sigh.
"If you mean Cybertron, yes," he spits, darkening.

I lower myself down to his level, leaning towards him.

"Sometimes…sometimes I can't remember it as anything more than a strategic advantage," I murmur, breaking our staring contest and leaning my face against his neck, "but you…you smell like home."
He cackles, unexpectedly, making me freeze for a moment before relaxing into his shoulder again. I catch a brief glance of his expression, suddenly happy and smug.

"And then I remember what I'm fighting for," I whisper in his audio receptors.
I lower my full weight onto him, wrapping my arms around his waist and feeling my young, little second laugh underneath me, his hands around my shoulders.

I'm home again.
