Violet Eyes

A poem written for English class. It is from the view point of Marik, describing his hatred of the Pharaoh.

Violet eyes

Violet eyes, they look at me

And lay before all eyes to see.

The deepest secrets of my heart

Before from this life I do depart.

Violet clouds of darkness surround

Blocking out all light and sound.

Violet clouds of despair do weave

All around me as I grieve.

Darkness within a violet light

All I see in eternal night.

Violet blocking out the day

Consuming me as I waste away.

Monsters spring from violet light

For me very soul I fight.

In this violence where I began

I will not let violet be my end.

Anger and violence born in me

Are focused on the light I see.

Violet eyes I do condemn

And I shall hunt them until the end.
