Disclaimer: I don't own HP.
This is just a little drabble I thought of.
It is commonly known that Harry Potter can feel Lord Voldemort's emotions. He can feel the dark lord's anger and his hatred. But few ever consider the fact that this link is a two way link.
Voldemort had originally explored the link trying to figure out ways to manipulate it to his advantage. Feeling the boy's emotions had annoyed him at first, but he soon became accustomed to the roller coaster of emotions that is adolescence. He felt Harry's anger, his loneliness, his joy, his disappointment. He vaguely remembered those emotions from his past. But there was one emotion he couldn't name.
This feeling was peculiar; when he felt it through his bond with Harry, his attention wavered and his magic pulsed. It was pleasant in a unique sort of way.
Finally, at one of the battles at Diagon Alley, he figured it out. He had just killed a nameless auror when he glanced across the battlefield and saw the savior of the wizarding world watch his long time lover fighting one of his death eaters. He felt the flood of Harry's emotions course through him. Worry and fear for his loved one were obvious, but there was still that foreign emotion. Voldemort's eyes widened ever so slightly as he comprehended.
It was love.
The fierce battle ended, and Voldemort retreated to his manor. He never opened the link again.
Yea, yea, I know it was obvious that it was love. But review please!
