Leandra looked at the scenery fly by. She was on her way to Raccoon City.
She was a soldier of the Marines. The Marines wanted her to go see what
happened and if the virus had a chance of spreading. They had originally
wanted to send a man but they were all too scared so they used her as a
last resort. They told her they would come back for her in 3 hours once she
arrived. She hoped she would live that long.
***
The city was a wreck. Police cars littered the streets. Broken glass was everywhere. Newspapers scattered the benches and sidewalks. There was a fire here and there. Leandra cautiously walked down a street. She was armed with a shotgun and 5 cases of shotgun shells. The shells were in a big backpack. The shells and the backpack made her back ache.
When she got to an alleyway she heard slow and steady footsteps and a moan. She readied her shotgun. Then a man came into view. He had blood on him and his face was twisted. She knew what she had to do. She shot him. Blood spurted everywhere. Leandra cringed when some brains landed on her combat boots.
Silence filled the air. A deafening silence. She continued to walk down the street. She arrived at a bar. She tried the door but it was locked. She kicked it. The door opened but her leg hurt. She went in.
Sitting at a stool was a man with dark brown hair and green eyes. He looked as though he had been there for awhile. He turned to her when she came in.
"Who the hell are you?" he asked Leandra.
"My name's Leandra," Leandra told him. "I came out here to see if the virus would leak out."
"It already has. The neighboring towns are already starting to become infected."
"What is your name?"
"Jordan."
"How long have you been here?"
"Hey! What's with all the questions?"
Jordan got up and walked over to Leandra. "Do you have lots of ammo?"
Leandra nodded.
"Then let's get the hell out of here."
"We can't. My team isn't going to come back for 3 hours."
"Oh fuck!" Jordan slammed his assault rifle against the bar.
"We could hang out here until they come back," Leandra timidly suggested, surprised by Jordan's anger.
Jordan shook his head. "No we have to get out of here. We won't survive even if we're just sitting at this bar."
"Do YOU have enough ammo?" Leandra asked.
"Yes."
Let's go."
They made their way out of the back door of the bar and into an alley.
