Chapter 1; I'll Be There
Tommy Pickles was hanging out at his best friend, Chuckie Finster's house, on a Friday night. The two boys were playing video games on the couch in the living room, when Kimi walked through the door. She had just got back from a date with her boyfriend, Zekke Martin, whom she had been dating for a little over a year.
"Hey, Kimi." Tommy said, waving.
Kimi waved back. "Hi, Tommy." the tone of her voice made it obvious she wasn't so happy.
"What's wrong, sis? You don't seem like your usual, happy self." Chuckie asked, concerned about his sister.
"I'm fine. Don't worry about it. Me and Zekke just had a little fight is all." Kimi assured.
"Again?" Chuckie asked. "This is the third time this week." he continued.
"Couples fight. It's fine. It's not that big of a deal." Kimi said, going up to her room.
Tommy felt bad as he watched the two siblings discuss this. He had known Kimi for a long time and hated the fact that someone was hurting her. He didn't know who this Zekke guy was, but he already didn't like him. He knew what Zekke looked like and everything, but he never actually talked to him. Good thing he didn't because he wouldn't be to nice to him if he did.
"She looked really upset." Tommy said to Chuckie.
"Yeah, I know. She won't admit it, but I can tell it's bothering her more than she lets on." Chuckie replied.
"Me too." Tommy said.
He wished he could make her feel better. Make her never have to hurt again. He wanted to wipe away the tears he knew she was crying, and tell her it would be okay. He'd liked Kimi for awhile now, but he never told her because for one, she was already seeing someone, and for two he didn't want to ruin their friendship. That and he wasn't sure how Chuckie would react.
"I'm gonna go talk to her." Tommy said after a few moments.
The purple haired boy stood up and walked up the stairs. He knocked on Kimi's bedroom door. Soft sniffling could be heard, and a few moments passed before she opened the door.
"Are you sure you're alright?" Tommy asked.
"Yeah. I'm fine. Thanks for your concern, Tommy." Kimi replied, rubbing her eyes a little.
"Are you crying?" Tommy asked as he put a hand on Kimi's shoulder.
"Don't worry about me." Kimi said, giving Tommy a small smile.
"You don't need to let him keep hurting you, you know." Tommy said.
"I know..." Kimi said looking at the ground.
Tommy gently turned Kimi's chin up to look at him. Her eyes glistened as she looked up at him. They just stared into each other's eyes for awhile, before Tommy started moving closer. At first Kimi was confused until she felt soft lips pressed gently on her own.
Her eyes went wide in shock as the kiss broke, a blush covering her cheeks. Tommy was standing there, wearing his own blush and rubbing the back of his neck.
