Prolouge
On the day known as Christmas, Mr. and Mrs. Potter walked down the lonely British alley with 2 of their children, Albus, and James. They were on their way to Mr. and Mrs. Weasley's house for a little celebration. Their youngest child, Lilly Luna Potter, was too young to come being only 2 months old. She was at home with Luna (the friend of the Potters she was named after) taking care of her. Albus suddenly stopped, and so did everyone else.
"Mum, look!" The boy said pointing at a basket on the ground. Mrs. Potter glanced at her husband. He nodded and she picked the basket up. It was surprisingly heavy, and when they looked inside, they were all astonished.
A small baby was inside the basket, squirming at the touch of Mrs. Potter's gentle hands. A beautiful golden locket hung around her chubby neck.
"My word, is that a-a baby?" Mrs. Potter said in a startled voice.
"Let me look, let me look!" Albus said while swerving to see the baby.
"I wonder where she came from," James said.
Mr. Potter took the baby gently out of the basket. "It is a girl." He said while looking at the adorable baby.
"Can we keep her?" Albus and James said.
"Of course not dear," Mrs. Potter said, "Her parents must be stricken with worry."
"I don't think so Ginny," Mr. Potter said while picking up a curious piece of paper from the basket, "Not according to this."
All four of them looked at eagerly at the note. In a neat but beautiful hand-writing, it said:
December 25th
If you are reading this, it is likely that I am no where to be found, or I am dead. I give you the only thing I have left in the world, my dear Alayna. The locket she wears around her neck is my last gift to her. You are the future of her and my happiness. I beg of you, whether you be muggle or wizard, please take her under your wing. Treat her as if she was you own, and I hope she never knows what became of her dear mother. If she is too troubling, or costs a great deal of money, look inside her locket and ask for vault 516. She was born today at sunrise.
James' voice broke through the silence. "So… Can we keep her?"
Subtly
A/N:
I know this is really short. And I'm sorry. Thanks for Reading! I post a next chapter soon.
