This is for The Golden Snitch: Halloween Costume Contest. The Prompt is Write from the perspective of someone other than Harry Potter cleaning out Grimmauld Place.
They knew it would take a little while, Grimmauld Place had not been used since Sirius had been sent to prison. Molly had been assigning jobs for everyone to complete. Both Remus and Tonks had gotten stuck with cleaning a room that seemed to be filled with a bunch of records and family heirlooms on the second floor of the house which the whole room seemed to be covered in a thick layer of dust and cobwebs.
"It's a shame no one had used it since the first wizarding war, this place is huge and would work really well for a meet up place over the last few years for all the aurors." Tonks commented looking over to Remus who was looking through a box of papers that sat on the table in the middle of the room.
"Well no one, me in particular really wanted to step foot in the house. And it doesn't just belong to Sirius, it belongs to also Narcissa and Bellatrix. You also Tonks." He said not looking up from the papers.
Tonks went over to a cabinet and attempted to pull open the drawer but found it stuck. She got a tighter grip on the drawer and pulled roughly a few times and it flew open and she stumbled back a few steps and fell onto the ground and the drawer came crashing to the ground.
Remus rushed over to her side, "Tonks are you alright?" He asked the young Metamorphmagus and he helped her off the ground who stumbled trying to regain her balance.
"Yeah, I am. Dang that drawer was stuck." she looked down to the drawer that was tipped on its side and papers sprawled out all across the floor. She bent down and began to pick up the papers and try to put them into a pile nicely.
"Here let me help you." He bent down and he helped her pick up the papers but her stopped when he came across a photo that he hadn't seen in years himself.
He chuckled and he stood up leaving Tonks confused, "What'd you find Remus?" She asked and she stood up to get a look at what Remus had and a smile came to her face when she recognised that it was a photo of him, James, Sirius, and Peter.
"This was taken in our third year It had been right after the Quidditch match and we had won against Slytherin. We had all thrown James a party in the common room afterwards. Minerva hadn't been so thrilled with us we had lost a good amount of points that we had earned from the game and we had all earned detentions. I had gone to most of them, unlike James who didn't go to a s ingle one assigned.
There was a knock at the door and in came Sirius came into the room along with Arthur. "Everything ok up here?" Arthur asked seeing the drawer and scattered papers and a few pictures on the ground.
"Everything's fine, Tonks here is just being clumsy." Remus said smirking and Tonks looked over to him her hair turning slightly red before returning back to her normal purple hair and got back to work cleaning the room with Remus after Arthur and Sirius had left the room.
