WARNING: THERE ARE SPOILERS ABOUT AKITO IN THIS FAN FICTION

-I woke up with a start and gasped for breath as I wiped away the cold sweat from my forehead. I could still feel her iron-grip on my arm and her foot in my stomach as I tried to scream "Mother please stop this!"

I clamped my hands over my ears trying not to listen to the cruel laughing of my mother. I felt tears fall down my face and a sob constrict my breaths.

I got out of bed and started searching for the only person who could calm my feelings.

I then ran out the door to fins him. Damn the Main House for being so damned big. The hallways all looked the same so I fell on my knees in the middle of a four-way intersection and buried my head in my hands and cried. I ignored them at first, but then I heard quick footsteps coming nearer and nearer to me.

"Akito-san" I heard a comforting voice say.

I slowly looked behind me and saw the person I had been looking for.

"Shigure" I whispered. My tears did not cease to fall as he walked closer to me and picked me up in his as a groom would carry his newfound bride. Then he started to quietly sing to me as I clung tighter and tighter to his clothes. I couldn't tell what he was singing, but just the sound of his voice comforted me until no end.

I hid my face in his shoulder as he rocked me gently. He drew soothing circles on my back. My breaths were slowed as he whispered the lyrics in my ear. My grip loosened as he said a not so occasional "I love you." At those three words I melted in his arms. I hadn't even noticed he had already taken me back to my room because with each step he took, it felt like he was still standing there in the hallway shifting his weight from one foot to the other.

My eyelids became very heavy to keep open as he kissed the back of my head and opened the door to my bedroom then closed it after we were inside.

He gently laid me down and pulled the sheets over my small body. He then silently stood straight up and watched me as I dozed off to my dreams filled with him. He stroked my face and my hair before he knelt down and kissed my cheek tenderly as to not startle me. He then rose to leave and go back to his own room. I then grasped his hand gingerly and looked up at him with tired eyes.

"Please don't leave me. Stay with me tonight" I said sleepily. He only smiled and kissed my forehead as if he understood why I wanted him to stay.

He climbed into the covers with me and draped an arm over my waist to pull me closer.

I inhaled his familiar scent greedily and snuggled in closer to his chest. He was still drawing lazy circles on my back. I closed my eyes and let my sleep overcome me as I listened to his last words.

"Sleep well Akito-san"
