Stopping to catch her breath, the half demon girl looked around. Her silver pupils reduced to slits. Her fox like ear twitched before she took of running again.

"There she goes men, catch her! The hanyou can't be that fast!" The villagers quickened they're pace, they were getting closer.

The hanyou looked around desperately. There had to be a place for her to curl inside to hide. Her silver eyes caught sight of a castle. No; not a castle...a magnificent palace. But, it was that of Sesshomaru, Lord of the Western Lands, and, as all demon and half-demons knew, he couldn't tolerate hanyou...but she had no choice.

Dashing from her spot, the half-kitsune girl headed for the palace.

"Milord," Jakken said from the floor beside Sesshomaru. "What are there to do today; besides tending to Lady Rin, of course?"

The demon lord sat in his chair, his golden eyes narrowed. "Nothing other than that, Jakken, there is no other task for you today."

"Yes, milord," the toad left the dining hall, and turned a sharp left, up the stairs and into a room, where a small black-haired girl was sitting. "Lady Rin, what shall we do today?"

The girl was silent for a moment. "Rin has found a new friend, Jakken. Rin is not lonely no more!"

Jakken narrowed his eyes. "A new friend? Does Sesshomaru-sama know about this?"

"No, Rin has not told her Sesshomaru-sama about her friend, she is going right now!" The girl stood, and walked down to the dining hall where Sesshomaru sat in his chair, thinking. "Sesshomaru-sama?"

The demon turned his gaze to the human girl. "Yes, Rin?"

The girl took a breath. "Rin has made a new friend!"
