The Double Trouble Double Date

PART ONE

Harry Potter tripped on his robes as he made his way down to breakfast in the great hall. A hand reached out to help him. He graciously accepted the help, and said 'thank you' before looking at the person who had helped him up.

It was a girl. A new Gryffindor girl to be exact. She was tall, skinny, (and in Harry's opinion) attractive. She had a tag pinned to her shirt which said her name (Jewels) and her house (Gryffindor.) Harry gazed into her beautiful brown eyes, and she starred back. Something passed between them. Jewels giggled nervously, and introduced herself as Jewels Marie. She was in Harry's year. He starred longingly at her and then looked away, realizing what he was doing.

"Bye," she said. Harry just stood rooted to the spot as she silently glided away.

"There you are," Ron called from the hall. "Um, Harry? Are you ok?" Harry just starred until Ron conked him on the head with his Herbology book. "We gotta go Harry."

"Oh, sorry," was Harry's only reply.

When they finally got to Herbology, they found two chairs next to Hermione, and sat down to wait. Hermione turned to them, and started to speak.

"I'd like to introduce you to my cousin Jewels," she said.

"Harry and I already met," Jewels said in a singsong voice. "But who is this hottie?" she questioned gesturing in Ron's direction.

Ron blushed and stretched out a hand, "I'm Weasley. Oops! I mean Ron. Ron Weasley."

"Nice to meet you Weasley Ron Weasley," Jewels joked.

Ron blushed again and said, "Just call me Ron."

Harry glared at them, and Hermione must have noticed this, because she poked him in the ribs, and said, " don't be such a spoil sport Harry." They talked no longer because their teacher entered the room. The lesson went smoothly, Ron and Jewels exchanging glances every few minutes. Harry was jealous, but tried to pay attention to class, and found it very hard when your best friend's stealing your crush.

The bell had rung, and the group grabbed their books, and ran to Transfiguration. They just made it. The next moment Professor McGonagall shut the door and began to take roll call. As it turned out, Neville was missing, which saved time from mistakes.

After class, they all walked back to the Gryffindor common room, loaded with plenty of homework. Hermione and Jewels had each won 10 points for their house because they were the only two listening. (The others were too busy paying attention to Dean Thomas and his new sneakoscope.)

As they fell into four chairs and let down their piles of books, they began to talk. It started out about what they wanted for Christmas, then turned into talk about Jewels. As it turned out, Jewels was just visiting for this year, and was an exchange student who had been to many schools including ones in North America, South America and Europe. She was Hermione's cousin, and had two younger brothers. Harry was pleased to notice that during this talk, Ron's gaze was mostly in Hermione's direction.

Later that evening, Hermione approached Ron and Harry at dinner. "Um, well, here, let's cut strait to the point, will you guys go on a double date with Jewels and me?"
