Shelby was walking back and forth. She was very nerovous and shaken. If that test would have been positive, her life would never be the same. Okay, she was thirty-two years old but having a baby changes your life completely. You have to change your habits, getting your priorities straight and many other things.

Last but not least... she didn't know who the father was. She had a one night stand with Caleb and a one night stand with Clay. So the father was unknown.

"How long does it takes?" said Shelby looking at Alex

"You asked me the same question two minutes ago and the answer is still 'two minutes'" replied Alex annoyed

"I'm sorry, Alex. It's just that..." Shelby started to sob and sat down on the floor. Alex sat next to her.

"What am i gonna do, Alex? If the test is positive, what am i gonna do, huh? Going to Clay and Caleb and tell them that i'm pregnant and one of them is father?"

Alex was dazed "Wait. I thought you didn't sleep with any of them".

Shelby made a nervous smirk "See, they were right. I'm such a tramp"

"Hey, never say that again, okay. You're not a tramp." said Alex.

Shelby took her hand "Thank you, Alex. But how would you call a person who slept with a married man and his two sons"

"First, he was separated. Second, yes, you made a mistake but it was all your fault. You didn't force them to sleep with you"

Alex swiped away the tears from Shelby's face.

"It was two months ago..." said Shelby

"What?"

"When i slept with Clay"

"A month ago didn't he..."

"Called off the engagement with Maxine? Yup. We were in the office, we were talking about the new case when we started to drink, one glass became two glasses then it became three and so on untile we got drunk and it happened... We promised it would never happen again..."

"And two days after..."

"He called of the engagement"

"Do you think it was because of what happened between you two?" asked Alex

"Of course. There isn't any other reason why he would called off the engagement with the woman he loved, with the woman he still loves"

"That's why you guys have been so cold to each other lately"

"Yup. And one week after, Caleb came back from Berkeley... again, shouting that it was all my fault. We had a very big argument that it endend..."

"With sex"

Shelby looked at her watch "I think it's time" said to Alex. Shelby and Alex looked at the pregnancy test.

"It's positive. I'm pregnant" Shelby touched her belly

"I think you're gonna a be a very good mother."

"You think so?"

"I' dont think so. I'm sure."
