When she leaves on a quest a few days before the fight against Apophis, she is almost out of time. Can she get to Egypt in time to save her friends? Based in the Lost Hero. and the serpent's shadow.

Hi this is my first fan fic so please comment. i love both the Kane Chronicles and the Percy Jackson series so i decided to mix them together. :) enjoy

My life goes Topsy turvy

Hey Natalie here.

Well, you don't know who I am, so I probably should explain. I'm Natalie mason, I'm 12, and I live in Brooklyn, at a place called Brooklyn house (I know, creative name, right). I like music, reading, and not being killed by a giant snake. This is my story. (Nico tells me not to be all dramatic. i do what i like.)

It all started in April. I opened my locker at my California school and found a strange amulet, a Djet, as Sadie tells me later. It was glowing...i mean literally glowing, it was giving off a dim yellow light. So I did what everyone does when they find a glowing amulet in their locker...I stared at it like an idiot. When I finally came to, i rushed out of the school, which my teachers didn't like. I ran to the foster home I lived in and sat on my bed. At the time, i didn't hear the whispers, but a few minutes later, i heard them. It told me about Brooklyn house, and that I needed to go there. So, i did what any sensible person would do in my situation. I ran away. I ran all the way to Brooklyn, where I met Carter and Sadie Kane. They were awesome, and they told me I was special and had special powers and blah blah blah...I'm not much of a listener. Soon after I started my training.

But, unfortunately for me (and a couple of Felix's penguins) i wasn't that good at controlling my magic. Often I would expel bursts of magical energy and it would bounce around. Nobody could explain it, and it didn't make me that popular around the house. Finally, after a months training, i could control the bursts. Then, bang! Carter and Sadie drop the bomb. They tell me that eventually I have to help defeat the snake of chaos, Apophis. They said anything I did could make or break the battle. wow guys, no pressure. Anyway it wasn't that fun. After that, life was pretty normal...well as normal as it got. Then Nico showed up. Then...things got weird.
