Ciel's POV

As I sit on my bed, I admit to myself that the thunderstorm has me scared. And though I don't tell you, I know you know as well.

"Everything you know, I know; everything you hear, I hear; everything you see, I see," you say to me, though not unkindly, "You know you are scared, yet you still won't admit it. You cannot hide anything from me."

You say I can't hide anything from you, Sebastian. But you're wrong. Oh, how very wrong you are. You have no clue. This one thing would seem insignificant to you, should I ever share, but it is the world to me. And you have no idea that this secret even exists.

So I tell you this. I say, "I have a secret that you yourself do not know, my dear butler," I smirk, "You'd very much like to know it, wouldn't you? And I'd very much like to share it."

You stare down at me, seemingly rather confused. But I see past the confusion, I see the arrogant look in your eye. You think you know it already. But you don't. "Anything the young master wishes to tell me, I shall hear," you say. Any other human would think you sound curious. But all I hear is you mocking me.

But alas, I am the one privately mocking you. For this one thing is something only I know. "Ah, but I can't," I say, as I continue to smirk, "Secrets cannot be given, they must be bought. Truly, I thought you would know this."

You leave the topic at that for the night, though I can tell you believe you've won. And I shall allow that thought to linger with you. But this game is far from over, Sebastian Michaelis.

For love is not a game easily ended.
