Being a runaway isn't as easy as Katerina thought… especially with a certain organization on her case.

Disclaimer- I do not own Naruto, sadly. And even sadder, I do not own Deidara! The things I would do if a I did… *drools* Right, that's outta line.

This is my first story, and I'm hoping you all like it. BTW, I do think my laziness has been temporarily cured! SHANNARO! Yep, so I'm writing a story. I really have no clue about the plotline, working on it as I go.

Love, Grace The Wonderous.

Katerina ran, heart hammering, lungs pounding, legs racing, and her mind relentlessly going over those last moments. Those horrifying last moments of a man so unforgivable, so cruel, so bitter to the bone. So unforgettable.

Stop. We are already so far ahead. No one will find us.

No! We mustn't stop. They will find us. They will kill us. Of that I am certain.

They won't! Who would come for us anyway? We have done-

Hush!

Katerina halted. She ducked just in time to dodge a kunai, then turned to meet the ANBU officers who had come out into the clearing.

Your gonna say 'I told you so?'

Do you ever shut up? We need to work together right now.

Shall I come out and play, then?

No. Not yet. If things get bad, maybe.

Hmph. Fine.

The young kunoichi tensed and then disappeared. She reappeared behind one of the ANBU, knocking him to the ground. The others quickly closed in on her. In a flash, she pulled out her sword, her lucky Zephyr, and swung it into the oncoming enemies. All but one dodged, and she flung the unlucky one into the air, and smiled at the thudding sound he made as he hit a large tree.

Not enough chakra. We can't do that one.

Try! It is all we have at the moment. And it will give us a chance to escape.

We will be too exhausted.

She sighed, and hastily moved her hands into the correct signals. Pig, goat, tiger, dragon.

Immediately a dark haze grew, it seemed, from the ground, and swiftly tugged at the feet of the ANBU. They stared at it warily, as it swirled around them. Thickening, growing. They felt their strength leaving them, and they began to panic. Ekatrina watched in the midst of the fog, smirking as it darkened. She could hear the screams of her victims, helplessly struggling against her jutsu. The mist had reached their necks now, and shadowy hands seem to caress them. Then those hands tightened. Almost as quickly as it had begun, it was now over. Ekatrina sighed, then collapsed among the fallen ANBU. And from the darkness of the trees, a figure watched her.

Yeah, a bit short, I know. I'm just lazy, and fight scenes aren't my strength. I swear I'll put out more tomorrow. Or maybe even later today. Maybe.
