Hidden in the Force By: Rangerkom
Luke meditated for hours, sensing everything in the room. His father's...no, his wife's lightsaber was sitting on a table. Luke could sense a fly landing on a glow-lamp. The chairs and lamps and everything he could see perfectly, maybe even better. Old Ben had said, "Your eyes can betray you, don't trust them."
He had taught Luke everything, well, almost everything. He had lied to Luke about his father, Anakin Skywalker, at first. Eventually, he had told him what he could remember; even as a ghost his memory failed Ben. Luke had learned little secrets like his father had a nickname like Luke's. Annie had been his father's nickname. "Wormie" was Luke's nickname. Lots of things about his father's life were similar to his own. For example, his father was living on, but not born on Tatooine.
What else could old Obi-Wan not have known about in Anakin's life? Luke opened his eyes and saw his father's lightsaber sitting on the table. An idea popped into his head. No, could an inanimate object remember things? Yoda's words echoed in his mind, "The Force surrounds us, binds us...between you, me, the tree, the rock." Luke extended his hand toward the lightsaber; it flew to his hand effortlessly.
Luke held his father's sword in his hands flat out, like a display case. He closed his eyes, concentrating, feeling the force flow through the sword. Many adventures flashed through his mind, for it seemed like 10 standard years. A phrase flashed through Luke's mind, "aggressive negotiations." Suddenly a clear image was shown in Luke's mind.
His father, in his teens, walks slowly on a cliff. He floats down, his robe fluttering wildly. Luke recognized it as a Tusken camp. He wondered why would his father want to be in this place. Anakin walked behind a hut, with guards. Luke thought, "Why didn't Ben tell me about this?" Anakin cut the back open with his lightsaber. The Tuskens' pets fighting over a bone drowned the sound out. Anakin walked in, and over to a middle-aged woman, cuts all over her body. The scene continued in Luke's mind. Luke learned how Tuskens killed his grandmother.
Luke sensed Anakin's demeanor change from fear to anger. Then Anakin began to hate the Tuskens. Anakin's thought came to Luke, "I will make them suffer for doing this to her." Luke wanted to yell, No, Dad, don't do it! Luke kept silent, because he knew it was in the past, not preventable. Luke watched in horror as Anakin killed the Tuskens, and not just the men.
Luke opened his eyes, gasping for air. But he had to continue to feel the History. A scene of a Droid factory appeared, Anakin was dodging slicers. Suddenly Luke was cut off. Luke sighed; the lightsaber must have been destroyed then. Luke thought, "Ben, what happened during that time?"
A figure appeared in front of Luke. A 30-40 year old bearded man. Luke was surprised. "Do not be afraid, Luke. It's me, Obi-Wan." Luke said, "How are you younger?" Obi-Wan smiled, his younger wit showing through. "When I left you for the Spirit World, I became young again." Luke slipped back into thought, "Obi-Wan," Luke couldn't call the Figure in front of him Ben, "What happened after that event I saw in my mind?" Obi-Wan explained, "After that problem, Anakin showed how great a warrior he was by fighting a former Jedi named Count Dooku, but Dooku cut off his arm and escaped even after fighting Yoda."
"That was the beginning of the Clone Wars." Luke contemplated for a moment. Finally Luke said, "I have so many questions about the past." Obi-Wan replied, "I cannot tell you now, Luke. I will when you are ready." The spirit disappeared. Luke said out loud, "That's just like the Kenobi, I knew."
