Chapter 1

The Long Summer

"Harry! Get up now!"

Uncle Vernon's booming voice awoke Harry suddenly. He got up lazily and went to brush his teeth and changed. Then, he rushed down the stairs.

"Here, cook the breakfast and don't burn anything," Aunt Petunia ordered.

Harry hated the Dursleys just as much as he hated them. They were not his real parents anyway. The powerful wizard Voldemort killed his real family when he was only a little baby. He also tried to kill Harry too, but he only left a little lightning scar on his forehead. Voldemort fled as he became weak, and that's why Harry Potter was one of the most famous wizards in the world. No one had survived Voldemort when he wanted to kill. Harry was then left out here on the door of 4 Privet Drive, and stuck with the Dursleys ever since.

"Don't sit there and daydream Harry!" Uncle Vernon screamed, "Hurry up and cook my damn breakfast!"

"Sorry." Harry hurriedly cooked the piece of French toast.

For the past four years, things have changed though. He received an invitation to attend the Hogwarts School of Wizardry, and he has gone there ever since. He was trained there to be a wizard and was quite popular around the school for his Quidditch (famous sport in the wizard world) abilities and brave expeditions he went on each year. Last year, he had won the Tri-Wizard Tournament, which was more known because of the horrid death of Cedric Diggory.

By the time he finished breakfast, Dudley (the fattest kid ever) had come back with the mail. He picked out a brown letter and looked at it.

"Oh, it is Harry's stupid school of magic again," he laughed loudly.

Uncle Vernon and Aunt Petunia faked laughing. They knew that Harry could be very dangerous because of his wizarding powers. Dudley had been given a pig tail once and had to be admitted into the hospital.

Harry grabbed the letter and ripped it apart. Sure enough, it was his school supplies list for the 5th years. Inside was a handwritten note from Professor McGonagall and also a little piece of parchment. Harry read the piece of paper:

Dear Harry,

Meet me at Ollivanders' when you go to Diagon Alley for your school supplies. There is something important that I have to tell you, but it's not safe to explain by owl post. Send me back a message from Hedwig.

1 Professor Dumbledore

Harry went back up to his room and wrote this message:

Dear Professor Dumbledore,

I'll meet you there.

Harry

Professor Dumbledore is the headmaster of Hogwarts. He is the one wizard Voldemort fears. He has been a friend of Harry's ever since he came to Hogwarts, helping him in tough situations. Hedwig, his owl, flew through the window and dropped a note on Harry's head. It was from his best friend Ron:

Dear Harry,

My parents want to know if you could spend the rest of the summer with us. I really hope you can, because I am really bored
