Things you didn't know about Arcana Famiglia
(because the Anime sucks at telling you about it)
WARNING: Spoilers based on the visual novel story lines.
The "Tarraco" is based off the the "Trumps" of a traditional tarot deck.
Each of the divisions within the Famiglia, with the exception of the Intelligence Division are actually named after suits within the tarot deck.
Mondo is actually means "World" in Italian, while the family's "Papa" is named Mondo and hosts the card "The World".
There are typically 78 cards in a tarot deck, 56 of them make up the suits of the Minor Arcana. These apply like a regular card deck (ex: one of wands, two of wands, etc.)
The Trump cards not mentioned in the visual novel, anime, or manga include The Magician, The High Priestess, The Empress, The Hierophant, The Chariot, Justics, The Hanged Man, The Devil, The Star, and The Sun.
The name "Liberta" means Liberty.
It was revealed in Luca's path in the visual novel that Luca is actually Jolly's son.
Luca's card is Temperence, a card whose power negates all other powers.
In the visual novel, Pace is the oldest son of a lord, and moves with his mother when his father's first wife gives birth to his half-brother Albert.
Pace's path in the visual novel reveals that the Strength card takes compensation from its host in the form of killing the host after thirty years, this is reversed by Felicita's Lovers card.
In Liberta's path in the visual novel, Sumire reveals to Felicita, Nova, and Liberta that the Fool card has told her that it "sought the blood of the World". They later discover that Mondo was married to another woman before Sumire. They had a son named Joshua who ran away from home and later fathered Mondo's grandson, who happens to be Liberta.
The discovery above reveals that Liberta is technically Felicita's nephew.
In Debito's path in the visual novel, he attacks Jolly in a rage. Elmo's barrier power as host of The Tower prevents him from harming Jolly, but in the process Debito's Amethyst eye is shattered. His power as The Hermit takes over his body and leaves him as a lifeless shell, though he is saved by Luca's quick thinking and another fake eye made from Peridot.
The visual novel shows Jolly as being the grandson of a grave digger. He was saved by Mondo after living with the body of his dead grandfather for quite a while.
In Luca's path, he sacrifices some of his heart to The Lovers in order to spare Felicita's memories.
Luca's path also reveals that he became Felicita's attendant after he negated the power of the Wheel of Fortune before it could erase all of her memories.
The "Mood Demon, Diablo" featured in Debito's story he tells the children is actually a revised account of how he met Jolly and was forced to make a contract with The Hermit.
In the visual novel, only Felicita goes with Nova to his parents. During the night she asks who he loves. This triggers Nova's change in feelings toward her.
Mondo is revealed to be 59 years old while Sumire is only 36. She is only two years younger than Dante.
Felicita is actually older than Nova by a year.
Liberta is the only one present during Felicita's near-drowning event in the visual novel.
During Nova's path, his Death power spirals out of control when he tries to awaken parents. He is only saved by the Lovers card being activated by Felicita.
The orphanage Liberta lived in was commissioned and run by none other than Jolly, its destruction and the knowledge that Jolly ran it is what causes the rift between Dante and Jolly.
The reason Dante is bald, is because Liberta once used his power to make him that way.
Dante acted as the "Masked man" to atone for his "sin" of acting as a spy for the Northern country of Nord in finding out more information about the Taracco.
In Dante's path, he encourages Liberta to call Felictia "mom". The same happens with Luca in Jolly's path.
