A slight AU to river song's ending in forest of the dead.
This is the way I wished River was saved if I owned doctor who this is how it would have ended. But sadly I do not.
"Time can be re-written!" The doctor screamed in my direction
"Not those times, not one line. Don't you dare! It's okay. It's okay. It's not over for you. You'll see me again. You've got all of that to come. You and me, Time and space, You watch us run!" I told him.
"River you know my name. You whispered my name in my ear. There's only one way I would ever tell anyone my name. There's only one time I could." He said. I could hear it in his voice he was desperate to save me even if it was only to find out how I knew what I know about him.
"Hush now. Spoilers." I told him as I moved the two ends of the plug and socket together planning to plug it in as soon as the countdown reached zero but the zero never came the young doctor had stopped screaming I looked around me as I heard a voice say
"Honey, I'm home" I looked at the young doctor and saw he was knocked out and standing right next to him was my doctor, my husband I couldn't help but smile,
"And what time do you call this?" I asked
"Sorry I'm late, Traffic was hell, the old girl didn't like me crossing my own timeline" he told me as he unplugged me from the data base and led me away from it "now stay right here, don't move" I did as I was told not quite sure what he was planning a minute later he came back with a double of me,
"Who the hell is she?" I asked,
"She's you, for now, she has all your thoughts all your memories and all your feelings, I call her ganger Pond." He explained as he plugged her into the data base,
Then my husband started the countdown at five, the young doctor woke up and by the time the countdown was at zero he could do nothing but cover his eyes from the light as the ganger me was uploaded to the data base. My doctor put his hand on my lower back and led me to the Tardis snapped his fingers and opened the door for me, "So you and me, time and space, where would you like to run?"
Voice over River: Some days are special. Some days are so so blessed. Some days nobody dies at all. Now and then, every once in a very long while—every day in a million days when the wind stands fair and the Doctor comes to call—everybody lives.
