The year is 1871, 3rd year of the Meiji. The resignation of the Shogun has brought the end to the bloodshed of the Tokugawa and the ancient warriors, Samurais, have become extinct. Law prohibits the exhibition of swords in public, and Japan is finally opened to the outside world. The image of the fierce swordsmen with two katanas at the side has washed away in the sages of history. However, the soul of a warrior will never die. Many samurai have been accepted into society, living normal lives. Yet some still remain, thirsting for blood. The feared samurai band called the Shinsengumi has disbanded, dissolving into all the others buried during the Meiji Restoration. Now all that lies for the remaining members of the Shinsengumi is revenge.
