Hey, Everybody!

I noticed just today that the Wordgirl section now has a character list. The resulting congratulatory pride in the Wordgirl Section's accomplishment drove me to write this- pretty much an English sonnet, minus the Iambic Pentameter rule.

Disclaimer: I do not own Wordgirl, or any underlying characters. They are copyright and trademark to PBS Kids and Soup2Nuts.

Oh, my Love, if only you knew

Or rather, took the time to see

That I would give my life for you

If you would be a part of me

I write you letters every day

In hopes that you will see my worth

But apparently, not 'till seven more Mays

Will my knowledge give our bond true birth.

True, you have other suitors

Many of which outrank me beyond a reasonable doubt

But my love for you is true, and very strong

Whereas they are money-grubbing louts

But then again, why should a young aficionado

Even be in your life's plot

If, before he reaches his El Dorado,

He constantly reaches where results are yet naught?

Well, until I can prove to the Big City Times that my presence would no longer nag,

I guess I'll just dream from afar as I continue to write the Daily Rag.

R&R, please!
