Protective
Katen Kyokotsu is, by and large, an extremely tolerant person.
She puts up with her wielder and his ridiculity. She puts up with Haineko's prissy nature. She is tolerant of Minazuki's silence because Mina is tolerant of her and her need for life to stay exciting, but not quite draining. She's even tolerant of Sogyo no Kotowari and their antics that, at times, showcase all the dangers of innocence.
There is one thing Katen cannot stand.
Muramasa crosses that line one night and finds himself pinned to the wall with a heavy iron blade to his throat.
"How dare you?" Katen hisses. "They miss their wielder. They're scared and lonely. They are only children."
Muramasa is silent, and he does not move, but his eyes shift a little to her left. She blocks his escape with her body.
"You will regret this," she says, with all the hatred she can muster, and turns to the corner where the two are huddled, eyes wide, arms wrapped tightly around one another.
Katen sighs and opens her arms, and in a matter of seconds she has both twins on her lap and two pale-haired heads on her shoulders, comforting like a mother would.
She hates Muramasa to the depths of her being, and the look she casts him over them lets him know it.
Katen Kyokotsu is a tolerant woman.
But she knows what she means to protect.
