Cable was driving fast today.

"I can't believe you broke the danger room!" Cable fumed, shifting the gear of his 2003 BMW. "Shouldn't your mutant ability prevent that?"

"I don't know what happened!" grinned Domino sheepishly, shifting in the passenger seat. "Well, anyway, we're almost there."

"I hate it when this kind of thing happens. If we didn't need the practice, I'd skip it. It's one o'clock now, and I'm sure there's only kids there. Little ones."

Cable gunned the engine.

Domino wrinkled her nose. "Yeah, but they're dangerous. Even the little, teeny girls. They can separate you from your base, confuse you, and wear you down. And they all have the same name. Amber."

"The teenagers are tough, too, Dom. All these video games give them all the mental practice they need. It's like they've had basic training. They can command, and they know how to take orders."

The two continued in silence.

"What name are you going to use, Dom?"

"Rogue, as usual. 'Bout you?"

"Jenskot."

"What happened to 'Cyclops'?"

"I always get nailed as Cyclops."

"Wolverine?"

"Somebody always takes Wolverine."

"Get there first."

"I can't. These 'moms' get in my way."

"Okay then, Jenskot."

They were in silence again.

"What's funny about this place," Cable coughed, "is that it isn't too bad. I like the way you can capture a tower."

"And defend It." added Domino. "These kids are great at invasions."

"I think we'll look funny, Dom. I don't think we, uh, fit in."

"It's not like we're bringing REAL equipment. We use their stuff, we fit in."

"I mean we're way older than they are. And we dress different."

"Oh, we look fine, Ante. We look industrial. They'd love to have our hairstyles."

Cable got a big smile on his face that scared Domino.

"Here we are, Dom."

They had arrived, and parked across from Laser Quest. Only seconds later, a van full of high school students parked near them and climbed out.

The combatants had arrived.

Quickly judging the opponents, Domino smiled at Cable, and then asked her favorite question. "Feelin' lucky?"
