~Dawns POV~
"Do you, Dawn Berlitz, take this man, Paul Phoenix, to be your lawfully wedded husband?"
He smiled softly at me, something that he rarely ever did. I smiled back as I looked into his eyes, his beautiful silver eyes. Those same eyes that I fell in love with 2 years ago…
-Flashback-
Tears ran down my face as I ran, gasping for air. I didn't know where I was, and I honestly didn't care. I felt so alone, and so afraid. Slowing down, I looked around at my surroundings. I was in a forest, a beautiful one at that. The sunlight was shining through the branches of the trees, creating an almost fairytale-like image.
My body froze as I heard a twig snap. I jerked around, and-
A shriek escaped my lips as I stumbled backwards, falling on my behind. I looked at the man in front of me in surprise. He was tall with broad shoulders, tan skin, and purple hair that reached his defined jawline. An emotionless look was present on his face as he walked towards me. I looked at him nervously as he got closer, until he kneeled down in front of me and looked directly into my wide blue eyes.
"W-who are you?!"
He raised an eyebrow at my words, looking me up and down with interest. I squirmed, suddenly feeling uncomfortable. There was a moment of silence before he responded.
"My names Paul. What're you doing all the way out here?"
I blushed at his deep voice, looking away shyly. "I had to leave my home." I mumbled
He didn't question my response, just continued to observe me. I glanced up at his face, still blushing, and accidentally made eye contact. An awkward look passed over his face before he stood up, offering his hand down to me. I took it and let him pull me up to my feet.
"You can come stay at my house for a while."
My blush got darker. "At your house?!"
"I have an extra room." He scowled, rolling his eyes. I knew it was wrong of me to accept an invite to a man's house at my age (15 btw, Paul was 20 at the time.), but I had nowhere else to go. I sighed. "Alright."
He grunted and turned around, walking a few steps ahead. I didn't get far before I tripped over a tree root, almost falling again. He glanced back at me with a smirk.
"Troublesome girl."
"MY NAMES DAWN!"
-Flashback over-
I blinked my eyes before glancing at the officiator, still smiling.
"I do."
