Luke wandered the moonlit forest his head swirling with confusing feelings and emotions. As he stumbled on a stray tree root, memories rushed up; a wound still fresh in his mother desperately clawing at Hermes to make Luke stay,Thalia's silhouette as she made her last stand, Annabeth's small innocent face scrunched up with fear as the Cyclops loomed over her. Memories that stirred up grudges and vows of revenge.

Technically the woods were banned but who cared it's not as if anyone cared what the shamed son of Hermes was doing in the middle of the night. People didn't look up to him anymore, now seeing him as 'that guy who failed his quest'.

Luke hated it.

He stopped, sat on a log and tried to sort through his chaotic emotions.

Sadness.

Shame.

Anger.

Anger at the undoubted look he could see in everyone's eyes.

Pity. It was in the looks that followed him around when he had returned, and it had been following him around ever since he had arrived back at Camp Half-Blood with just a scar and a heart bent on revenge.

On the gods; on all the gods who had abandoned their children leaving them to bitter life of hating their godly parent and never being accepted. On the Fates weaving his life with sorrow despair and death.

But mainly on his father. The almighty god who had blatantly ignored him his whole life, leaving him with his mentally challenged mother, only for the gods to rip apart the other real family he had found. And when Hermes finally called him it was for a stupid quest that was doomed to fail.

Luke clutched on to the raging beast of anger in his heart; it was the only thing that would keep him going.

The new dream that was unfurling in his mind. A world without gods. Without pain or death or destruction that the gods brought with them in his life and the life of everyone he had ever loved or cared for.

Luke stood up, new resolve burning in him. Glaring up to the heavens, he cried out" I swear by the River Styx that I will wreak my avenge upon the gods and TEAR DOWN OLYMPUS WITH MY BARE HANDS!"

Brick by brick.
