Her red blood scattered over the silky unruffled snow, disolving instantly in the milk white color of the ground. No matter now hard he tried, it plaged him, that horrible, vision, of the blood of the one he loved so deeply. The feeling, of the blade in his skin, in a slow motion, had made the horizontal scar on the left side of his face.
Tomoe, dearest Tomoe. In what ways could have this been overlooked? How could he had stopped this of all things from happening?
She was still warm. The thick caress of the tepid blood ran down the length of his arms, and soaked the fabric of his attire. Still Warm. As if she were still living. As if, her heart, had not stopped. The blood, is what kept him alive.
The cold, dark snow was growing, and getting more grand in nature, that half of his and her's body, was covered in the frigid snow. Was this the proper ending for such a increadible creature as her? How could he have made her suffer so?
Flames overtook the home, in which he had once lived. Inside, her peaceful corpse lay, dissapearing into the bright light. He would go on. For her sake, as well as others. This was his purpose. She was in him. And would be, always.
Years had passed, and he had grown to be more forgiving, and caring, and took a vow, to never kill again. Yet at times, when he was alone, he found himself, thinking of the past. Of the woman, whom he made such a connection. One that could never been broken.
But there was another. Someone who he had grown to care for, even more deeply than he did with Tomoe. His thoughts, were only thoughts. His mouth, could not protray the right words to tell her of his true feelings. Yet, Kenshin knew, that one day, in the near future, that he would speak that word, to the girl that had stole his heart.
"Aishiteru.." His lips mouthed it in his restless sleep, in his mind a picture of her, and of Tomoe. These two women, who had such a impact in this man's life.
Tomoe, he first one to love him, for him. Nothing else could matter more. This caring that she provided, made his heart swell with love for her. He had taken her love, her life, and her very soul. But, he knew that she had cared, and had always cared... and _would_ always care.
Kaoru Kamiya. That woman, such life, such spirt. Her very essence on the Earth, was important, to many who was around her. Especially him. He could remember when they had first met. She had told him, that she did not care about his past. Only him. That made him stay. He saw that light in her eyes, the same exact light, that he saw in Tomoe.
Sence then, he had grown to care so much for that woman. In ways, he did not, with Tomoe. Tomoe would always be his first love, but Kaoru, was the one that he had given his soul to.
"Kaoru..." Her name rolled off his tounge as he opened the pools of violet in his eyes, and looked up into the dark night. Out in the far distance, the thunder rolled.* "Aishiteru Kaoru..."
And in the other room, a woman smiled deeply, her blue eyes filling with unshead tears. Her mouth whispered words only she could hear.
"Aishiteru.. Ken-san.."
*~Fin~*
*='the thunder rolled'... Hehehe Garth Brooks.. I love that man! ^^;;
