Chapter 1 "You cheated," I said, completely outraged. "Pirate," was his only response. He kept his gun aimed directly at my heart. There we stood, for a split second, locked in a state of indecision. Should I move between him and the back door? Would he decide to shoot me? Just then the front door creaked. Finally, I thought to myself, the soldiers are here. As they continued in their attempts to break down the door the pirate began to move towards the back exit. I quickly sidestepped so that I was directly in his path. "Move," he firmly demanded. "No!" I shouted defiantly. "Please move." He sounded very annoyed with me. "No, I can not just step aside and let you escape." While rolling his eyes, the pirate cocked his gun, but still I refused to move out of his way. "This shot was not meant for you." What did he mean by that? I was very confused, and just looked at him, hoping that he would explain his strange statement. Why would a pirate hesitate to kill? But I was not to get answer just now. It was then that I noticed Mr. Brown had awoken. He stood behind the pirate and brought his bottle of rum down on the rascal's head. The pirate froze, his face wore an expression of confused shock, and then he slumped forward. Just as the pirate hit the ground the soldiers burst into the forge. "Good work Mr. Brown," Commodore Norrington said upon seeing the pirate unconscious on the floor. "You've aided in the capture of a dangerous fugitive." "Just doing my civic duty, sir," he slurred in response, as per usual barely cognizant of everything. Yeah, right. I thought while rolling my eyes. I fight him, risking my life, and all he does is sneak up on the guy. "Well," the Commodore began very smugly. "I trust you will remember this day as the day Captain Jack Sparrow almost got away. Take him away."
