New Year's Eve. A time to assess the year past and look forward to the future. He had quite a past and was looking forward to an incredible future. In the course of less than one year he was "born", married, was working as a physics teacher and fathered a child. He heard the door open and his quiet revelry was disturbed.
"Blimey, it's cold out there!" He could feel the cold and was glad he was not out in the storm.
He held his Rose, felt the swell of her abdomen and realized he was right where he belonged.
