Spoiler-ish, I guess? And slashy.

The sun's shining, there's a nice cool wind...

And I'm stuck inside. A beautiful day outside, and I'm stuck doing paperwork. Damn the military, I couldn't take another day off? The country was just saved a month ago, I think another month off is in order. Sighing, I looked back down to my paperwork, eyes catching a piece of paper I put aside. Oh yeah, the other reason I want the day off.

The Fullmetal Alchemist's resignation letter, signed and ready for his signature. I scowled down at the offending piece of paper, fingers itching. I'm sorry Fullmetal; the resignation letter somehow got torn up and burnt. Oh yes, I could just imagine the look on his face if I said that. Taking a deep breath, I glared holes into the paper in front of me. Even better, he's coming in today to officially resign.

Hearing my door slam, I looked up, blank mask automatically covering my surprise. Speak of the devil. "Let's get this over with!" Edward Elric grinned manically, sun reflecting off his blond hair and bright grin. Confidently he stalked up to my desk, and my eyes caught on the swinging ponytail behind him. This could be the last time I see him.

With a weary sigh, I motioned to the letter and I felt envy as the paper was picked up with two flesh hands. In a few seconds of skimming, he looked at me with an eyebrow raised. Rolling my eyes, I handed him the pen so he could sign his name on the dotted line.

Pursing my lips, I looked down. I felt like saying so much, but I couldn't say anything. Stay on the team! Don't leave! Everything will be dull now I'll never see you again. Argh. How the Fullmetal Alchemist, or ex-Fullmetal Alchemist could me so attached to him in a few years, but what felt like forever is puzzling. Everything screamed at me to tell him! Tell him what? That he outshines the sun, or that he brings up confusing feelings which I refuse to label? As he's resigning? Glaring at the stupid [soft-looking] antenna on his head, I tensed up. To stop me from doing anything stupid, of course.

Hearing the sound of a pocket watch clinking on the table, I raised an eyebrow at the now ex-Fullmetal Alchemist. Who was looking at me. Looking into intense golden eyes, I noticed his crossed arms, tilted head and curious eyes. "It's official now?" He asked, and I nodded in reply. Grinning, his eyes took on the familiar look of something that's a preset for disaster. Warily, I imagined Central Command as crater, with Edward Elric as its insane centre.

"So the Fullmetal Alchemist nickname doesn't matter? I'm not a dog anymore?" Sighing, I nodded again. Why he needed clarification I didn't know. "You're no longer my bastard of a boss, and I'm no longer your subordinate?" My eye twitched, but I nodded yet again. Crossing my arms, I glared at him. Thanks for reminding me. My glare faltered a little, Edward Elric grinning like the cat who got the canary. I watched him warily; unsure of what unpredictable act he'll do next.

His eyes steeled, and he nodded slightly, making up his mind. Fear uncurled in my stomach—

In one smooth motion, Edward Elric leaned over my desk, grabbed my shoulders and placed his mouth on mine. My mind screeched to halt, and my fingers twitched, eyes wide with shock. He's kissing me! Just as I adjusted to the feel of his hands on my shoulders, breath mingling with mine as his partly-chapped lips covered mine, he pulled away. Opening my eyes, I could only watch him as he walked out of my office, a hand up in farewell. I caught a glimpse of red on his face as he made his leave.

I would have called for him, but I couldn't speak. One chaste kiss from the Fullme- Edward Elric, and I'm speechless.
