A/N: Written in a moment of agony and desperation . . .

There was someone who promised me

There was someone who promised me.

With amethyst eyes, so hard and yet so brittle, he promised me.

A terrifying oath of blood and vengeance.

Looking back now I should have stopped him. I should have grabbed him by his shoulders and yelled into his face- Can't you see the blood on my hands? Well, can't you!

Now I can't do anything so simple. He would not listen to me, Zero that is. The man who has killed Lelouch, murdered that angry, feeble noble with such thin wrists, and inhabited his shell. A monster with a devil- cursed scarlet eye that bids Man to turn against himself. The demon that I pledge to bury in the corpse of my childhood friend, finally at rest.

He is the worst kind of friend for he is not Lelouch; the worst kind of enemy for he is Lelouch. Still, I must fight him for I remember that promise, a promise made to the trampled innocents and the traitorous sons alike.

To return whatever savagery had stolen from them.

I am honour- bound to promise that indignant young boy the same.

I will get you back from Zero, this I swear to you . . .

. . . Lulu.

I could do with some cuddles perhaps . . .
