Manipulation Of
Another Kind
Disclaimer: There's quite a few ways that Jervis Tetch's manipulation of Gordon could have gone and this is one of those. And yes, I have been re-watching season 3 of Gotham again thanks to buying the dvd recently.
Alice Tetch had done the only thing she could think of in order to drive off her rather disturbed brother, Jervis while he'd been using his tricks to dig into Mr. Gordon's head. And that had been to try and shoot the man who put disturbed thoughts into her mind in order to be more then just siblings. Thankfully, it had worked but the damage was done but her brother hadn't made the former Detective try and kill himself. No, instead, he essentially trapped the poor man in his own mind as he rocked back and forth on the ground. Mumbling various things as he did so and unable to do much on her own, she'd been forced to seek help from the people in the club downstairs. The Blonde lady who ran the place clearly wasn't too happy with what had happened to Mr. Gordon as her Brunette and rather gorgeous friend made a phone call to the Police. And unable to find it in herself to leave the poor man be, she went with the nice Police man to the GCPD so that she could help explain things once there.
"Holy Mother of Saints, Barbara wasn't lying." Muttered Harvey in pure shock at the sight of his best friend as he took a look at the man once he was brought in.
Not truly knowing where he was but hearing Harvey's voice, Jim began to speak. "Harvey Bullock, good man with mistakes in his past. Has gotten… Has gotten somewhat less lazy…"
"Excuse me?" Wondered Harvey in confusion and if whether or not he should be feeling insulted.
"S-Sorry, Mr. Gordon's been acting this way since the rooftop. He, he had Ms. Kean really angry thanks to some of what he said. Just, just don't take what he says too personally, okay?" Alice told him softly.
Harvey stared at her for a moment and then at his best friend before deciding to have him taken to Lee to see if she and Lucius could see if he'd been poisoned or not. "Harvey Bullock is a good man when he wants to be!"
"And just what the Hell is going on here?" Demanded to know Captain Nathaniel Barnes as he arrived.
"Captain Barnes is an overbearing hardass who means well." Mumbled Jim and getting a glare from the bald man.
But then he noticed the glazed look on the former Detective's face. "What the Hell is going on with you, Gordon?"
He wasn't given an answer, at least not at first. "The world isn't a good place for James Gordon. Too much pain and loss so the inside of the mind is a much better and safer place for James Gordon." Mumbled the former Detective as Alice gave the poor man a sad look.
"My brother did this to him."
"Your brother?" Questioned Barnes immediately of the girl as Jim mumbled various things.
Alice could only nod. "Y-Yes. My, my brother, Jervis Tetch. He has, he has a way of getting into people's minds and when that happens… You're doomed."
"Someone tell Vale she has a great set of legs but she kind of annoys James Gordon with how determined she is. But James Gordon kind of likes it." Randomly declared Jim and getting a look or two in return.
The good Captain quickly turned his attention back to Alice however. "So you're saying that your brother managed to do this to Gordon?"
"Y-Yes. I'm, I'm surprised he didn't make Mr. Gordon jump off the rooftop that I found him and my brother on instead." Alice told him and Harvey couldn't help but suck in a breath at that scenario.
"Did he poison him? If so, two of our own may be able to do something about it."
This Tech fellow was clearly a dangerous man who needed to be brought in quickly. Especially before he could do to any others like he'd done to Jim. "I… I don't think they'd be able to do anything for him, Mr. Barnes." As it is, she wasn't sure what her brother had used to make Mr. Gordon like he is now.
"Well, it never hurts to try. Come on, let's get him to Thompkins and Fox and see what they can do. Young lady, could you please come with us so we can learn a little more about this problem?" Requested Barnes seriously and she nodded as Harvey began to gently guide his best friend towards the ME's office.
Unfortunately, neither Lee or Lucius would be able to do anything for their friend. Something that would trouble Lee a great deal due to how she still felt so much for him. Especially when Jim revealed a few things to her that she hadn't been expecting. Like showing up at the place she'd had down south but leaving when he saw her with Mario six months ago. His revelations while in his current state would cause her to leave Mario since she now was aware of a few things as she couldn't be with him while her heart still beat for Jim and his her's. Even if that did cause a slight problem or two where a woman named Valerie Vale was concerned. Luck for Jim's condition however, would come in the form of his estranged Uncle when he helped remind the former Detective of their family code. Which would be enough to help break through Jervis Tetch's condition and earn the nutjob a nice stay in Arkham when the time came. And as for Jim and Lee? Well, those two gradually made their way back to one another.
Author's Notes: Probably kind of a cliché ending but I do hope folks enjoyed none the less!
