089. Ink
One of the more awkward members of the team had led her into the basement. She had forgotten his name almost instantly, he had been rather forgettable.
When they had told her she would be giving a description to some lab tech called Abby, she had a clearly defined image of who the woman would be. Prim and proper with a perfectly organized lab. No unnecessary clutter, no pictures of friends and family, no unnecessary noise and nothing outside the box.
So was rather surprised when the awkward one had shoved her into the lab (muttering something about needing to work on something else).
She couldn't see anyone when she first entered. The first thing she spotted was a large picture hanging on one wall; the picture was, she could only assume, of something microscopic that had been blown way out of proportion. The opposite wall held a dozen of so photos of the team she had met an hour before; they were all making strange faces or doing something strange and no doubt embarrassing, not realizing they were being watched at the time. The music playing was loud and thrashy.
"Not quite what I was expecting…" she muttered to herself, wandering further in, toward the set of glass doors.
When she reached them, she could make out a figure pulling a lawyer-ish shirt off then putting a black shirt with skulls over her bare skin. She caught a glimpse of a large cross and star covering her back.
"You must be Emily," the girl greeted when she exited the rear portion of the lab.
"And you're Abby?"
"Yep," she said happily, leading her over to one of the many computers. "Lets get started on this sketch."
"Nice tat," Emily commented, now noticing the one on her neck.
"You like?"
"It's pretty cool. So's the one on your back."
"Thanks. You into tattoos?"
"I've got a few," she said vaguely.
"Cool."
They spent the next fifteen minutes or so deciding on nose size and mole placement and eye shape for the man that Emily had witnessed killing her friend.
"So," Abby said turning to Emily with a grin after they finally finished. "Let's see your ink."
