So, this is something that I ever since I first watched the movie I wanted to do, and that was ages ago. Now I'm finally content enough with my writing abilities to put it into action. Yes, this is a slice of life, so no huge dramatic plot, but there will be a plot! This a complete work in progress so please suggestions and review!

NOTE: AFTER EVENTS OF BOOK, DALLAS LIVED, JOHNNY DID NOT!

I stretched, and looked up at the sun, not daring to look back at the building that I had just come out of. "You got no one here to pick you up?" I heard the officer who had walked me out to the parking lot ask. "Do you need a ride kid, cause I can give you one if you want." I bristled at the offer, after about three months of being bossed around the filthy old officers, I was not about to let one drive me over to the north side.

"Nah, I can walk to the bus station," I said shrugging my leather jacket further up on my shoulders, I had missed the smell of it. I began walking down the sidewalk before I ever got an answer out of the officer. It was about five in the evening and I had just gotten released from juvie, normally a guardian would've had to come sign me out, but I was a greaser, and no one cared about greasers. So, I would head to the Curtis house, the brothers and the rest of the gang would probably be getting ready to eat dinner. Just like every other Sunday night. Hopefully, Dally would be there too, I had a bone to pick with that hood.

After a short bus ride, and while walking I neared the familiar house. It was where I spent most of my nights, just like Johnny Cade, I had either spent time with the Curtis brothers or at Dally's room at Buck's. I bit back the dull pain of loss, it'd been a year since the whole church fire, and the Soc that had been cut, but Johnny was a loss that we still felt.

As usual, all of the blinds were shut for privacy, so I couldn't see who all was in there. However, they were being so noisy, I could hear that there were quite a few of the gang in there before I even hit the fence. I opened the gate quietly, there was a reason that I hadn't told the rest of the guys that I was getting released today. A certain New York native had gotten me locked up for three months, so I was sure as hell gonna leave marks on him that would last just as long.

Instead of walking up the front porch and heading through the screen door I walked around the house towards the back door, that opened up into the utility room. While the front door was almost always unlocked, this one, however, is a hit and miss. Keeping that in mind I hoped that it was unlocked. I began to slowly turn the doorknob, not wanting to blow my cover, by drawing attention to the inside of the door. After the back door was swung open I didn't waste any time barging into the house and headed straight for the kitchen. The gang normally spent their time in the fairly open area that made up the kitchen and the living room.

It was easy to pick out the scowling blond, I ignored Soda's surprised greeting and went straight over to Dallas. The dirty greaser only had a minute to register the fact that I was standing directly in front of his face before my fist connected with his jaw. The familiar dull pain shot through my fist and I took a breath, feeling a hell of a lot better, it had been too long since I had gotten into any fights. Dallas had been sitting up on the Curtis's counter but was now sprawled across the floor. I walked swiftly away from him, knowing if I lingered, he'd give me a bruise to match. "Next time you go distract the fucking cops." I snarled menacingly.

That's when I finally turned around to face everyone else. The whole gang was there, Two-Bit was laughing his ass off next to a slightly less amused Darry in the living room. PonyBoy was standing by the sink, must've been his turn to do the dishes, staring at me dumbstruck. Sodapop and Steve were in the middle of a card game, and neither one of them paid much attention to me. Well, Soda had already greeted me, and I didn't expect Steve to really care about my return. "The hell you thinking bitch!" Dallas shouted, pulling himself off of the floor. He was headed straight my way, and I knew from all the time I spent with him and Tim, neither cared that I was a girl, hell I was just as tough as any of the guys.

"If you two are gonna keep that up, take it outside!" Darry shouted, Dally stopped and just glared at me, and I let myself relax. I bit my lip contemplating something and looked over at Steve's cards, Soda was raising his eyebrows at me when I looked up. I smirked, mouthed, and used hand gestures to give his best friend's hand away. "You're a little late for dinner if you want some." The oldest brother offered me as if I hadn't been gone for three months.

"Welcome back." Pony said as I moved over by him to fish out the leftover food from the fridge. "I'm glad to see you haven't changed much." He always so timid, it was kind of hilarious that he was so scared of me. As tough as I was he would probably be able to beat in a fight, then agian, maybe not. I was the only greaser girl any of us knew who was apart of the shepherd gang, or who went to every rumble. Perks of both hanging out with the guys and talking Tim into letting me join, I got in more than enough fights.

I sat down at the table with my cold food, and watched as Soda let Steve keep raising the bet, he knew he would win, and Steve was too dense to fold. That when Dally grunted and sat down next to me, a bag of frozen peas pressed to his jaw. I leaned over and gave him a quick kiss on the cheek, and went to go back to my meal. The blond, however, reached over, grabbing my chin, and guided my face back to his, this time he gave me a proper kiss. I swear it took a lot to get him away from Sylvia, he had liked her better, cause she was tough like I was, but not too tough. Although whenever I went to my first rumble with the guys, that night me and Dally got together, and had been going steady ever since.
