Yusuke Raiyumi was just your average student duelist; Not particularly skilled, but just good enough to coast through his first year at South Academy. His grades weren't outstanding, but he got by. "This is fair enough", he often thought to himself, "After all, you get as much as you give". What didn't seem fair to him, however, was the fact that his family shunned him and acted like he never existed. It wasn't fair that his family forced him to go to South Academy while the rest of his siblings attend Duel Academy. But he lacked the skill or influence to change things, so he was just forced to suck it up and spend his freshman year at South Academy.
The next year, however, the world offered him a chance. KaibaCorp, founder of North, South, and Duel Academy, made the bold move to merge all three academies into one. And thus, the Unified Duel Academy came to be, dedicated to nurturing young minds into world famous duelists. Members of all three academies had to pass a rigorous exam consisting of a written essay, 5 Duel puzzles, and finally, a duel against another applicant. The winner got the privilege to attend this new school, while the losers would be sent home.
For Yusuke, this was more than a chance to finally reach his dreams. This was a chance to show his family that he was good enough to earn their recognition. This was a chance to prove everything they had ever said about him wrong. And this was a chance that he was not going to pass up.
A/N: Man, this is weird. I'm actually writing something serious for once. I just had this weird stroke of inspiration and I thought "Screw it". So here I am. and I actually have a plan for my writing this time. Since the next chapter will contain a new Summoning Mechanic, I'm going to go ahead and explain it here. Morph Summoning is a new type of summoning. The Monsters, Called Morph Monsters, have ATK, DEF, Levels, and go in the main deck. You Morph Summon by using the appropriate "Morph Spell" card to tribute one of your monsters on the field. You can then "Morph Summon" the Morph Monster stated on the Morph Spell from your hand or deck. Morph Monsters, when destroyed, go to the graveyard, however, when a Morph Monster is destroyed, you may Special Summon the monster used as "Morph Material" from your graveyard. It's kinda like Ritual Summoning, but you only need the Tribute and the Spell in your hand, and the Tribute is specific (Most of the time). Well, Enjoy my story! -CashewRice
