"Good night, young master." says Sebastian
He goes off to get things ready for the next day before going to bed himself. Ciel on the other hand was fast asleep when nightmares force him awake, his heartbeat thumps out of his chest. He grabs his nightgown and goes down to the kitchen sleepily. He tugs open the fridge to find milk. He doesn't know how to warm it up, like his mom use to do for him so he just drinks a glass of milk cold. Ciel puts the milk away before going back to bed to try to go back to sleep. He tosses and turns in his covers, nightmares plaguing his mind. That assignment from the queen was scarier than he wanted to admit.
Backstory:
Ciel and Sebastian was sent out by the queen to find out what is going on in a church where children have been found wanting to jump off buildings to be angels. Ciel and Sebastian have an idea who it is but they can't confirm it. They honestly thought that they were dead, they had to be dead which is why this doesn't make any sense. Though because this is at a church, Sebastian can't go in like last time. Ciel sighs and puts on some of his Sunday best clothes and went to church like he was suppose to. A few weeks past by and nothing happens, then Ciel hears a chime and his eyes glaze over. He follows a row of six children after church instead of meeting up with Sebastian like he was suppose too.
"Come be with God beautiful boys and girls. Come be an angel like me," sings an angelic female voice.
The voice was standing tall just like Ash/Angela but unlike either of them she has long black hair that falls down her back, she smiles and goes over to Ciel sensing that he is the strongest.
"My my what a beautiful child you are..." chimes the angel
She gently takes off his eye patch.
"Let me see your beautiful blue eyes. They remind me of the ocean. Clear as day," says the angel.
Ciel stood there not sure what to do but he does open his eyes the mark shining high on his eye. Everyone gasps and backs away from Ciel, scared of that evil mark.
"Don't fear my children, he can be saved. We must baptize the child."
"I've already been..." starts Ciel
"It must have been in unholy water. You can come with me, children go on to the roof. You can become angels soon. No one must be left behind." says the angel
"Yes Mother," says the children.
The angel smiles and takes Ciel's hand leading Ciel down a dark hallway, he snaps out of it for a little bit and notices that there is blood and chains on the walls, it was clear they weren't in the church anymore.
"Where are we going?"
"To get you cleansed."
"Cleansed? But this doesn't seem right. Let go of me, I don't want to do this."
He tries to fight out of the angels' grip but he can't, he bites the angels hand and starts running in the opposite direction.
"Seize him! He must be cleansed!"
The children stopped what they were doing and grab Ciel forcing him down the dark hallway. Their eyes are glazed over so they don't see anything wrong with it. Ciel tries with all his might to escape his captors he doesn't like it. Which no one does honestly, if the kids snapped out of it...Ciel knows they know that forced cleansing is wrong and would run too. He looks over to his left and sees that one kid is getting tired. He gently pushes the child into the wall snapping the child out of it. The child screams waking the other kids out of their senses. Ciel leads the kids out of there as quickly as they can and into a closet but then the angel sings again. They all join the angel, Ciel is grabbed and backhanded.
"I guess you won't be but you will be the first one to go," says the angel.
Ciel is snapped out of it but the angel scoops him up ignoring his kicks as he is put on the roof. Sebastian on the other hand is looking everywhere for Ciel when he hears Ciel's screams.
"SEBASTIAN! HELP ME!"
"YOUNG MASTER! HOLD ON!"
Sebastian looks for an entrance that isn't part of the church and runs up the stairs and fights around the children and grabs Ciel from the angels grasps. He helps Ciel down against a wall.
"It looks like church didn't go so well," says Sebastian. He sees that one child is covered in blood, he turns toward the angel. "What have you done to this child?"
"Me?! Ask your master demon. He pushed him," states the angel.
"The walls were covered in blood! I didn't do anything but wake him up. I'm sick of this Sebastian, we have a job here. Stop the deaths of children, the orders brought on by the queen," reminds Ciel
"Yes, but I don't follow her orders, young master."
"Then must I order you? Are you that uncompetent?"
"No, of course not but it is like a genie if I must be frank. They can't grant your wishes if you don't make a wish, isn't that right? I can't grant the wishes of my master if he doesn't say them."
"Very well then, Sebastian this is an order by any means necessary save these children."
Ciel's eye glows and Sebastian smirks at the angel making the angel get really scared as Sebastian's eyes glows. Ciel gets up and leads the children down, he hears screams and goes down the stairs and covers his mouth as he looks on in horror as children are being left in baths of blood. He helps the children out and sees that their eyes are glazed over.
"Good they won't remember this," thinks Ciel.
He hurries all the children out of the church and off home but he waits for Sebastian by the gates. Sebastian comes over to Ciel and ties the eye patch back in place. They then go home to make reports and have the Scotland Yard check out the church themselves.
Back to now:
Ciel hasn't spoken about the blood since then, he decides he doesn't want to be alone and thinks of his options: Tanaka hasn't been feeling well, Finny, Meyrin and Baldroy would fret over him and he shakes his head clear not wanting that. He wants this to be as little of deal as possible. He has a feeling that Sebastian already knows what is up so he turns red and walks down the cold hallway to Sebastian's room. He finds Sebastian fast asleep in bed, he goes to move the covers knowing that Sebastian won't wake. He blinks and runs out fast when he sees Sebastian move in his covers. Sebastian sees the door open, puzzled he goes to investigate he sees everyone in bed, then goes to check on his young ward. He finds Ciel fast under the covers pretending to be asleep. Sebastian goes closer and fixes his covers like a good butler would to be sure that Ciel doesn't get sick. Ciel wakes up the next morning and acts like everything is normal, like nothing happened. He notices that something is on Sebastian's mind.
"Sebastian, what's going on?"
"Hmm?"
"Don't 'hmm' me. You look like you have something on your mind."
"Oh it's nothing, it's just that I had a visitor yesterday."
"A visitor?"
"Yes, would you know anything about it?"
"Why would I know of anyone going into your room? It might have been Grell."
"Quiet right, it could have."
They both drop the subject and go on with their days, Ciel goes back to Sebastian's room going straight to his bed for a couple nights. Tonight is no different but the nightmares have gotten worse, he climbs up into bed with Sebastian climbing next to him.
"Sebastian? Are you awake?" asks Ciel
"Hm? Yes?" asks Sebastian
Ciel curls up into Sebastian's chest snuggling close, Sebastian wraps an arm around Ciel.
"Did you have a nightmare?" asks Sebastian, with a smile.
"Shut up...I'm glad you're here," says Ciel
He turns red relaxing on Sebastian's chest. Sebastian doesn't say anything just holds the little boy close to him letting Ciel know that he won't let anything hurt him. They both fall asleep peacefully and Ciel has no more nightmares after a couple more nights with Sebastian.
