Sunsets were undeniably sad. However they were still Axel's favorite time of day. Sitting on the clock tower and looking out at the dying light, he was reminded of just how many endings took place in a single day.

Relationships were cut off, bridges burned; people had parted with the knowledge that they'd probably never see the other again. Hopes and dreams and goals had been created and trashed equally. The sunset was filled with tales of those sorrowful yet inevitable endings.

But it also brought the reassurance that a bad day was finally over and a promise that there would be another one after that, filled with more events imaginable.

Axel liked the sensation it gave him. Watching the sunset was humbling and the most relaxing part of his existence. Well. That and the ice cream.
