'D-Don't touch me...' She says quietly, her hand reaching up to rest on her cheek.
'I-I'm so sorry... I didn't mean for that to happen.' He says and she shakes her head. He steps towards her and she moves backwards.
'Stay away from me.' She mumbles, tears filling her eyes as she rushes towards the bedroom. Slamming the door shut she leans back against it as tears stream down her cheeks. He hadn't meant to hit her with the mug, he'd thrown it at the wall. It just so happens she was in the way.
'Carla, I'm so sorry. Maybe we should get that cut checked out.' He says leaning against the other side of the door.
'Why are you so angry all the time?' She asks quietly.
'I'm not.' He replies.
'You are... The other day on the phone, I thought it was nothing but after everything else has happened it doesn't seem like nothing. At the christening party. Just there.' She says causing him to sigh.
'It's nothing.' He replies.
'You need to tell me what's going on, Nick. If you don't tell me what's going on then I'm leaving... I'll take off this ring and you'll never see me again.' She says.
'I-I'm having problems.' He admits.
'I can tell.' She replies quietly.
'I think it's the brain injury. You're right, I've been getting frustrated a lot quicker than I used to. I flipped out at Bethany's bullies, a couple of kids and I flipped out. Sometimes I just don't feel like I'm in control of my own body...' He says and she can hear the fear in his voice. Slowly standing up she moves away from the door and sits on the edge of the bed.
'Come in.' She says. The door slowly opens and he makes his way inside. She can see the tears in his eyes as he stands in front of her.
'I'm sorry.' He almost whispers and she nods her head.
'I know you are... You need to get help, Nick. You can't live like this.' She says and he nods his head.
'I know... Maybe you should leave. I don't want to hurt you.' He replies and she shakes her head.
'I'm going nowhere. I'll just start ducking when you're throwing mugs around the room.' She says causing him to sigh.
'Sorry, too soon for jokes.' She adds standing up and making her way towards him.
'What are we going to tell people about that?' He asks reaching up to gently touch her cheek.
'I fell? I don't know. We don't need to tell people the truth, Nick. We can say I walked into the corner of the cupboards or I feel of the bed and hit it off the bedside cabinet.' She replies.
'I love you Nick and whatever is going on we're going to sort it out, okay? But you need to speak to me because that out there that scared me Nick and I don't want to live in a marriage that I'm scared of.' She says and he nods his head.
'I'm sorry.' He replies.
'Stop apologising and just give me a hug.' She says wrapping her arms around him.
'I'm so scared...' He admits resting his head on her shoulder as he wraps his arms around her.
'You're allowed to be scared, Nick. Just speak to me about it.' She says.
'Is it sore?' He asks gently touching her cheek.
'A little bit.' She admits causing him to sigh.
'I'm-' He begins and she shakes her head.
'Don't you dare apologise Nicholas... Let's go snuggle on the sofa.' She says smiling slightly.
