OUT OF THE QUESTION
One-shot
Lavi did not love.
He was not supposed to. He was the successor to Bookman, and therefore he should act as such. To the Bookman, the only thing that was important was their paper and information. Everything else was just unnecessary.
Lavi did not get attached.
People were just ink on their paper; nothing more, nothing less. It was their job to make sure that the Exorcists' information was written down objectively. Attachment to anybody was simply out of the question.
Lavi did not need emotions.
No Bookman did. All it has ever done was hindering their jobs, and to the Bookman, their job was always the top priority. They did not need any hindrances, and if they had any, the thing to do would be to destroy them. Even if they had to remain heartless for the rest of their lives.
But maybe, Lavi thought as he waved to Allen and Lenalee, until then, he could enjoy these things he knows he'll have to forget when he becomes Bookman.
Because to the Bookman, these things were simply out of the question.
