Disclaimer: I have a wish to own the characters from Samurai Deeper Kyo,
especially Jimon.
A note from Fenice E: This fic is more based on the Manga Samurai Deeper Kyo, because I do not like the Anime's Jimon. At least the one in the Manga was prettier, even if he was crazier. I love the crazy guys. Hence, I love Jimon.

Samurai Deeper Kyo: The Lone Samurai--Jimon
Prologue: Sekigahara
-
The wind and rain dwelled on the battlefield as the Eastern and Western armies collided in rage on that cold, October morning in 1600. Among those fighting for the West was a young warrior by the name of Jimon. Although he believed that Tokugawa Ieyasu would win the war, he was still only there to participate in the destruction of tiny human lives.
Left and right the victims of bullets and katana fell, and Jimon continued standing above the rest. He led himself into the very heart of the war and took out so many people...
So many heads he held in his hand, by the hair of their pale faces and proclaimed, "Look here! I, Jimon, am the strongest Samurai alive! No one can defeat me!"
A wisp of his long, fair hair whipped across his face and he turned to face the wind, seeing what looked like a lone samurai covered in blood, by the sheen of his armor. Jimon witnessed as hundreds upon hundreds of the Eastern army of the Tokugawa clan swept for their prey. But Jimon was convinced that this Samurai was on no one's side. He, like the young warrior, had a thirst for blood.
Jimon wanted his head... to cut it off and display it would be such an honour to the young samurai.
"Away!" he screamed as he launched himself towards the lone figure, the other samurai closing in, "His head is mine!"
Just as Jimon had reached the area, the lone samurai struck, knocking the young warrior back into an already-formed pile of deceased samurai, his face covered in the blood of those of the Eastern Army. Wiping his face off as best as he could, he opened his eyes to find the samurai standing above him, the broad end of his katana resting on his shoulder.
And for the first time in his life, Jimon felt fear.
~~~
He recalled someone from his old hometown mentioning a Hitekori Batousai, manslayer of 1000 people. The one called Onime no Kyo. Demon Eyes Kyo.
"Never go near him, Jimon," the old coot said. "Never in one million years. He would kill you and then look down upon your body as he cut you up in a thousand pieces to bring home to your family." Jimon just laughed. The thought of someone being as strong as Akuma himself. "You worry too much," the boy countered as he waved the whole conversation away. The old man sighed as the boy walked out, shaking his head at the cocky young samurai.
~~~
Now Jimon knew what the man was talking about, as he was face-to-face with the legendary Onime no Kyo. The older man sneered down at him, giving Jimon the impression that he was to live with the dishonour of not dying in the war. The thought didn't sit well with the youth.
"What are you waiting for then? Kill me as you have the others!" he screamed at Kyo. The samurai just sneered as he stood straight and walked away.
Jimon's fear subsided and he was left with an undying anger for the man who had disgraced him. He didn't care who he killed the rest of that battle. He just wanted to get to the Demon Eyes Kyo. It just wasn't fair, he thought disdainfully as he swung countless times, killing off three opposite samurai in one swing of his bloody katana.
"YOUR HEAD WIL BE MINE, KYO!"

A/N: Ah, kind of a short prologue, but okay enough. I did research on Sekigahara to coincide against the Manga Kyo.
