Andrew, clenching his extra key tight, moved through the streets of New York City rapidly. His heart was racing, his palms were sweating, and he didn't know the difference between his nerves and excitement. As he walked up the stairs to Emma's door, he was almost hesitant to press the door bell.
"My dearest Emma, please say yes. Please…", he thought over and over again like a broken record in his head. Finally he got the courage to ring the bell. Emma gracefully appeared at the door.
"Hey Andrew!", she said with a quick but awaited hug, "Come on in." They both entered into her spacious living room and sat down on the couch.
"What's up, what are we going to do today?" Emma asked excited yet some what worried as she saw Andrew looked nervous.
"We can do what ever you want Em. I… um… I have to ask you something first though…" Andrew said almost frightened by what Emma could respond.
"What hun? Is it something bad?", Emma said.
"Well you could take it one way or the other ha", Andrew thought having to think again as he was afraid he might have said it out loud. "Well… um… we've been together for some time… and… I don't know, I was just wondering if um… I have some um…" Andrew said stuttering on every word.
"Andrew just spit it out! I'm sure it's something good!" Emma said with a giggle in her tone.
"Ah I guess I'm trying to say… I have some um "extra space" in my apartment and I know you um like it here but I think it would be nice to uhh… move in with me? Yeah, yeah. Move in with me. That's what I'm trying to uh say!" Andrew burst out trying to get all the words out of his mouth.
Andrew, extremely nervous and sweating in fear of her response, sat there feeling like Emma had responded an hour later.
"Oh Andrew hun!" Emma said quickly jumping up and almost attacking Andrew. "Of course I will! You shouldn't have been so nervous. You know how much I like and adore you. I would have said yes even if you lived in a box!"
Andrew was overwhelmed with happiness at this moment. He was so happy Emma had said yes. He loved her so much. "Oh well great now that that's over, let's go out to lunch!" Andrew said joyous of his accomplishment.
The two talked about where they were going to lunch while stepping out of Emma's apartment. As they walked down the street, holding hands, Andrew was over joyous of this forever-living moment in his mind now and his memories later.
