I do not own Kya or Aang. I REALLY wish I did but they belong to Bryke. But one day they will be mine. *evil smirk*
Kya slipped her hand into her Daddy's and pulled him along the street eagerly, giggling as they approached the bakery.
"Come on Daddy!" The girl squealed, looking back at her father as he struggled to keep up, laughing.
It was surprising to see the Avatar out and it was even more surprising to see him being pulled be a girl no older than three with fat legs, blue clothes, and a miniature waterskin. However everyone who was lucky enough to cast their eyes on the sight knew who that girl was. Kya's resemblance to her mother was uncanny and the way she affectingly called Avatar Aang "Daddy" left no one wondering who the child was. It was evident that they were spending the day together. The shopping bags clutched in Aang's hand were enough proof. It seemed that Kya had no qualms on manipulating her Daddy into getting her something and the new father had no defense over it. This time it looked like she was demanding a sweet.
The bakery looked to be a quiet shop, filled with pink, frilly cupcakes and cookies. Kya was the girl who mother had prayed for, feminine in every way and adored the color pink. Maybe that's why the shopkeeper gasped when the couple entered the shop. The already six feet tall Avatar, equipped with the beginnings of a beard, was standing in a pink shop admiring cupcakes with his daughter. But then again, the shock of having the most powerful man in the world in her shop might have influenced the shock as well. Whatever the way you looked at it, the woman looked convinced to give the two the very best of service.
She approached the pair with a warm smile on her face and her hands crossed against her pale pink apron. Her eyes crinkled with kindness as she spoke to the two of them,
"Why hello! What can I do for you?"
Kya paid no attention to the lady before her and kept on admiring the cupcakes behind a glass case. She tugged on her father's robe and eagerly point at on the treats. Aang acknowledge her wishes then went right back to the woman,
"Oh, we're just looking."
"Daddy!" Kya cried. Aang turned around to find her face pressed against teh glass, hungrily eyeing a cupcake. It had a two-feet tall pile of pink icing on it, and on top of it sat a tiny china replica of a tea cup. A purple ribbon was even tied around its base in a bow, like a purple snake wrapped around a teddy bear.
"I want that one." She demanded, tugging on his robed violently. She even cast her secret weapon, a full blown pout with her wide blue eyes staring like saucers at him. It was a trick that proved Aang powerless.
Aang grinned at the woman and asked,
"Um . . . Can we have that one there?"
"Oh of course!" The woman replied. She went behind the counter and grabbed the cupcake, handed it to an eager Kya and charged them.
Aang placed the coins on the counter, thanked the woman, got Kya's hand and led her out of the shop. Kya devoured her treat in what seemed like an impossibly short time. She licked her lips with pleasure. Then her eyes lit up when she caught sight of a flower shop.
"Daddy! Daddy!" She exclaimed and set off in run towards her destination, Avatar in tow.
