You set the steaming cup of tea down on the bedside table. You sighed, seeing him groan in his sleep. His usually calm or frowning face was replaced by a look of great distress. He would probably not even have the strength to complain that it's you who is taking care of him.

"Corporal Levi?" You tried to shake him awake, but he just shifted to a position that didn't allow you to see his closed eyes. You could see his flushed cheeks. You put your soft hand on his flushed forehead, and felt the burning sensation under your palm.

He groaned again, and cracked his blue-gray eyes open. "Cadet (l/n)?"

You stared worryingly into his blue-green eyes, before putting a hand on his heated cheek. It was flushed red, and his voice wasn't the deep, stern voice that you were familiar with, but was cracked and sick.

"Are you feeling better now?" You asked, a worried undertone added to your usual sweet, ringing voice. This wasn't unusual, since the (h/c) girl cared for many people, as well as a certain short, grumpy corporal.

Levi only grunted in response, but secretly smiled in side. It was really nice to see that (y/n) really cared for him.

You suddenly stood up and walked away, leaving Levi to stare at your back, and making him rethink about the thought just a moment ago.

But soon, you were back, not empty handed, but with a clean, with a white towel in your left hand.

As you got closer, Levi could see that it was dampened. You carefully placed the wet cloth onto his head, positioning it so that it wouldn't fall off. Levi visibly relaxed, sinking into the bed and making you tilt your head to the side in confusion.

"Is there something wrong?" You asked with the same tone you used earlier, but the worrying undertone was even more evident in your voice. Levi smiled softly, surprising you a little bit.

"No... it's just that... well... I... I thought... youdidn'tcareaboutmewhenyouleft... for that towel..." he stammered, and managed to say all of this in one breath, and you looked at his even more flushed face.

A few awkward moments passed, making Levi worry if he said the wrong thing. To his surprise and your hidden gladness, you leaned in, mouth right next to his scarlet ear, and whispered:

"I don't only care. I love you."

And with that, you left the room.

As he watched the door close, unspoken words stuck in his throat, threatening to come out.

"I love you too"

Hehe, this is just a short little OOC fluff that I've written... actually, I think it was my first AOT fanfic, too... well, it's really short, but hope you enjoyed!
