Setting:
Sometime during the sixth season of The Next Generation, after Wesley has become a traveler.
Story:
"Wesley, come here," says Dr. Crusher as she approaches the transporter pad and hugs her son. Wesley steps off the pad.
"Mom, if only I could repeat what I've seen, the stories I could tell."
"It's good to see you, Wes," Geordi La Forge adds "And thanks for the courtesy of transporting according to regulation, onto the transporter pad. We know you didn't need to."
The lights flash.
"La Forge to engineering," the call rang out.
"Please excuse me." Geordi leaves transporter room three.
Upon arriving to engineering, La Forge receives a report of an energy surge that took place near the holodeck.
"There has been a massive loss of data in the memory banks of the holodeck," comments Barclay.
"What do you mean, 'loss of data'?" responds Geordi.
"To be honest, sir, I don't know. I've never seen this before. It's almost as if the system purged the data itself. Something has removed itself from the memory banks."
"So where are the data now?" asked La Forge.
"They appear to have rematerialized within the holodeck itself."
"La Forge to security. Meet me at the holodeck." Geordi requests through his communicator.
At the holodeck everything looked normal outside, but the three men knew something unique lay on the other side of the sliding doors. "Computer, who is inside the holodeck?" asked La Forge.
"No one is inside the holodeck," responds the computer.
The doors open.
